    Please someone stop the noise

My formula FWIW: 1. Stock windshield plus Laminar Lip, 2. Full coverage helmet, not modular 3. Earplugs, and 4 Chin curtain (such as the one which came included in the box with my Shoei helmets over the years). The mesh chin curtain is often overlooked , but it can significantly reduce the...

Different headlights for left side of road?

Good point about left side stand on high camber opposite side of the road. I tried it with fully loaded R200GS on country roads in AUS. Very big lean. Just wait until your first encounter with a busy 5 way roundabout on opposite side roads!

    Never Spit in the Wind

Try tube insulator (thermal control kit) . Works on my Camel back. Shields the tube from the sun, etc. Blowback is always a fall back.

    Stitch Roadcrafter

I have had the RC 2piece for about 15 years, The 2 pc gives you better chance to meet your fitting needs w/o custom sizing. I got my jacket one size larger than my regular size to accmomodate back pad, electric vest and layering. This could work better for you if you like looser fit up top.YMMV.

    Shoei Neotech

Looking through three lenses. Any distortion on Neotec? I always wear Gargoyles with my RF1100. Considering Neotec, not sure if flip down internal visor worth it. I would be looking through Gargoyles, internal visor and faceshield. Someone have experience with this?

    aerostich guy;s

I went through same debate in 1996. Went for two piece and very happy. Bought jacket one size bigger than regular suit size so I could easily layer and add back protector.Pants were my regular size. Can be zipped together to use as a one piece and I bought ellipse for when I do that. In colder...

    Brake light on OEM topcase

Thanks, Bob. The universal top case kit may fill the bill. I will also check the wireless helmet LED kit I found on an internet search.

    Brake light on OEM topcase

Thanks. Got the Real Time graphics and they help, but still looking for a top case brake light solution if possible.

    Brake light on OEM topcase

I bought the Yamaha OEM topcase for my 2008. Only later figured out that if I wanted a brakelight on a topcase, I probably should have gone GIVI. Anybody put a brakelight on the OEM topcase? If so, how? Thanks. Hawk

Laminar Lip and Stock FJR Screen

I'm only 5' 11", but laminar lip and stock screen work very well for me. It was the first accessory I bought for my 2008 FJR. Also have LL on stock screen on my BMW R850R..

How Many FJRs Are Out There???

At least two members of the Sacramento area BMW club also own FJRs. I see FJRs around here at least once or twice a week when commuting and a half a dozen while recently riding my '08 in Gold Country. It helps that Roseville Yamaha is an excellent dealer and the head of the service dept. rides...

    bike rentals in the Northwest

I rented an FJR from Mountain to Sound on a PNW trip in the Fall of 2005. The owners, R.T. and Brenda, are absolutely the best folks. The bikes were in top shape and all aspects of the rental transaction were first rate.

    I'm in. Inaugural Ride

Thanks for the welcome. RSVLFeej: You are right about all the great local tight and twisty bits in the Sierra and beyond. I have been sport riding those for many years on another bike. After yesterday's shakedown cruise, I will rethink the new FJR as both my new touring bike and my new sport...

    I'm in. Inaugural Ride

Just finished my inaugural ride on 2008 FJR1300A which I picked up on Tuesday. Loop from South Placer County, back way to AP, through Woodland, Capay Valley and back via Williams and Marysville . Perfect day on new bike. I have been lurking here a while. Typical baby boomer M/C backgound: BSA...
