Bitten by the Sport Bike bug

Hey Bob Still loving the 07 Busa, but thinking about getting an 08 CBR1000RR. If they work it over like they did the 600, it may be the bike to beat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMEzdsrhC3w...feature=related Good luck whatever you choose. Fred

    How fast have you been

165 indicated on 07 Hayabusa. I keep closing too fast on other traffic, but I think I may have found the spot to to go a bit faster. Whooshhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! :yahoo: Zoltan P.S. cyoungmo bought my FJR off of Craigs list, he is a pretty good guy, and he sure loves that FJR.

O.M.G., FJR is near match to Hayabusa performance?

I gotta say handling, much. :yahoo: If you are keeping up with a busa in the twisties, you are a much better rider than the busa boy. I wish I could have kept the FJR for the things it was so good at, but this Hayabusa is way more stable in the twisty stuff. Honestly my Vstrom will push...

O.M.G., FJR is near match to Hayabusa performance?

Here is a quote from the speed wagon article "This bike has the magic combination of power, comfort, fuel range, carrying capacity and handling that a Speed Wagon should have," asserted Hoyer. "While the big Yam doesn't have Hayabusa-class power (what does?!), this is a refined, powerful engine...

O.M.G., FJR is near match to Hayabusa performance?

Sorry folks no contest. The Hayabusa is way way ahead in power and handling. It revs 2000 rpm's higher, and has more torque down low. The FJR is much much more comfortable for long trips, but it would get it's lunch eaten on a drag strip or a road course. I shift out of 2nd gear at about...

    Traffic light cams

Here is what sent to the camera people. "You guys sent an obviously doctored photo of a license plate with my plate number to the Florissant police. Look at the number 4. The image is of a black man, I am white. The motorcycle is a Harley or some other type of cruiser; I had a Yamaha FJR1300...

    Traffic light cams

I received a summons today to pay a $100 fine for turning right on a red light without coming to a complete stop. They had my plate number, and 2 pictures of me turning right on a red light. The only problem is............the guy was black, and the bike was a Harley or some other cruiser. Now...

Most Cost Effective Way To Purchase And Install Tires ?

I just put tires on my ex-FJR, 25 bucks each swapped and balanced at my dealer. Here is a link to a little help on getting the wheels of safely. https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?s...mp;#entry299549 Zoltan

Thanks For All The Good Info

You guys have been very helpful with the FJR, but I just sold it and now I'm a happy Hayabusa owner. My wife is cool, but she isn't 3 bikes cool, so I sold the fast one for a faster one. This bike rocks. I ended up getting an 07 because I found a deal too good to pass up. I kept the Vstom. It...

    New tires & tweaked suspension

I put a set of Conti Road Attacks on and tried some new suspension settings, the results are IMHO pretty impressive. I started with the settings from sport rider magazine and ended up with these settings. Front preload 2 lines showing Front rebound 5 clicks out Front compression 7 clicks...

    Support for changing both tires

Nice price Smitty, I paid 25 per rim at Chesterfield Valley, I did the remove and reinstall. Maybe I'll come down to the "Shady Rest Hotel"in about 2000 miles. Way too early to tell, but I love these tires. Funny thing is you run the front tire backwards, thought it was strange, but verified it...

    Support for changing both tires

One more minor detail. When I removed the rear wheel I found about a tbsp of gear lube inside the splined drive area. I will keep an eye on it, but I suspect I will need the oil seal (item #5 on the parts list). Should be able to wait till winter. Over and out. Zoltan

    Support for changing both tires

Thanks all for the good advice, nice details Scab. I don't think I'll need the pipe rack with this method. New tires coming right up. As a side note I'm putting on Conti Road Attacks...............don't let that get around :D One of my FJR buddies says they stick like glue. Thanks one and...
