I just drank the Russell koolaid!

You are going to love this seat! About the flat-footing it at stops - I was a bit uncomfortable with this at first, but have got into the habit of shifting the butt forward and over a bit at stops while putting the leg out and it is no bother at all. I have done a few 10+ hour days with no...

They let me back in! Really!!!

Hey Jeff, Thanks for sharing your adventure. Hope you managed to partake in some Canuk beer while you were up here.....mmmmmmm.......beer........ The Crowsnet Pass is indeed a scenic ride with plenty of nice curves. The mountain slide you refer to is the "Frank Slide" - where the entire...

How did you cut your windshield

Having cut down a few of these, I can second the original reply that finer grades of sandpaper on the rough cut results in a very professional finish. On a rubber sanding block, start with 80, then 100, 120. 150, 200, 250, 400....

    Mod to CeeBailey windscreen

Do as I did - cut a 1/4" hole and use a jigsaw with a blade rated for plastic. Works like a charm. You will spend a week going at it with a Dremel...tidy it up with a file then some sandpaper (from coarse to file) and you are set.

Thought I had the bike I could ride forever...

Some thoughts: - Back pressure from the stock windscreen could cause the shoulder blade pain - my VStream virtually eliminated back pressure - Releasing the spring tension on the throttle body by one revolution may help - it certainly did in my case - Set-back risers like the MCL (as already...

    throttle spring release/relief

Count me in as one of the spring-release converted for the '05 - that one mod made a huge difference to me - wrist pain gone, mid-back-shoulder "pinch" gone....me happy... :D

    cutting down a stock shield

I can give you the quick and dirty, having cut down a few of these recently. Simply get a "Plastics" blade for your jigsaw. Place wide masking tape on your windshield where you are going to cut - both sides. Pencil the shape - once you get it right trace one half with a piece of paper and...

Why do you think the cagers (that dislike us) dislike us?

Like some of us here, I own a cage - in fact, where I live, I am forced to drive it more than 6 months a year (snow, ice, etc) I will admit that since becoming a rider (10 years now) I have become a MUCH better cage driver - full shoulder checks, etc and make a concerted effort to allow faster...

    FJR Discomfort

I had the same affliction - the risers did help, but for me (and YMMV, etc, etc, etc) the big fix was the throttle spring mod. Once I flipped that middle spring off one revolution the shoulder blade pain (and the wrist numbness) were gone. I typically do 500 to 750mi per day when on the road...

Here is what I did today

Having spent the first half of my working life covered in sawdust - I can say - Nice Work! And so true about the pleasure to stand back after a days work and say "I did that!" Now I can only say - er...ahhh...nice addition to that GPO for SOX Compliance..... :dribble:

    12 Volt Inflator

Yo!, I found a unit up here in Canadian Tire up here that fits very nicely under the seat without modification. I modded the ends to fit into my Widder set up and snugged in a repair kit and I am good to go! All under the seat. Let me know if you are interested - I will send pics and even send...
