IE10 won't render it correctly. Edge will. Probably Firefox & Chrome, too.

    Secure your Ride

I just saw this on Linked-In: www.yanchor.com They are out of the UK. Can be used on trailers, boats, small construction equipment and just about anything small enough to load in a pickup truck.

Last Ride of the Year: Stagecoach Cafe

I would love to go, but I don't have the gear for the cold I will encounter on this end of the trip. We are looking at upper 20s Fri morning and Fri night in Knoxville, maybe some snow flurries thrown in. Rain moves in on Sat. Y'all be safe and show us some pictures after you get back.

    Barber Motorsports Vintagefest Oct 7-9,2016

I'm going. I will be trying to park close to the MX in the NE corner. I'd like to find and meet rtwdoug from the advrider forum. I've admired his exploits from afar for several years now. I've never been, and have a place to stay off site.

    Southeastern RTE?

I'd love to, but that is my son's b'day, plus a fundraiser at school that I have signed up to help set up. I could do something on the 15th, though.

15% Ethanol Comment period is open

Riders, Please take the time to tell the EPA NO on increasing Ethanol standards........this will destroy most motorcycles. The main issue is the specific gravity of Alcohol (Ethanol) is lighter than gas. If you pump less than 5 gallons at any single time you can get way too much Ethanol vs...

    calsci windsheilds

When I bought my 07, the PO had the stock screen on and included a Calsci to go with it. I installed the Calsci for winter riding and the Stagecoach in Dec. I have since put the stock screen back on. I like the Calsci better and will probably keep it on there permanently. There's more to...

    Choosing a GPS webpage

I use POI-Factory and GPS-Data-team (.com after each). They have lots of POI files, and some great links to the different makes of devices, forums to discuss... PF has the slickest UI and is more widely used, GDT probably has more options for non-Garmin. Free registration opens up most of the...

    Exorcised rear fender - Why?

I am thinking about my next tire change now. I need to incorporate a quicker removal than what it would currently require. Anyway, looking forward to a great riding season. I don't have to look at it while riding anyway.

    First Ride

I switched from a VStar 650 to an 07 FJR. After the little cruiser, it's like having a Ferrari between your legs. Better than that, it is comfortable for long rides and you can shift around while riding. Cruisers are really restrictive in that regard, putting nearly all of your weight on the...

    Exorcised rear fender - Why?

Yeah, it looks worse every time I look at it. I don't guess anyone is interested in a set of plans. ;-( That's the kind of inspiration you get when you spend too much time at the dirt track watching those guys fix their late models after heat races.

    Exorcised rear fender - Why?

Thanks. Sounds like my son and his car club. Who would have thought that blacking the hood, painting the rims, pulling a rear bumper or fender would add 5 hp? When we get old enough that the hair in our ears grows faster than the hair on our head, practicality means more than appearance...

    Exorcised rear fender - Why?

I wanted to post a pic, but I can't seem to find a format the site likes, and embedding a link just shows the broken link symbol... Anyway, after riding on wet roads yesterday, the rear end was filthy - way more than expected with mud & grit all the way up on my trunk, panniers. It seems one of...

    Avoid Atlanta ?

Good stuff. Pretty much the same as my experience. I saw that ATL is playing with adjustable speed limits around 285 during certain times of day. Is that a real thing, or do the drivers still pretty much maintain the same pace as always?

A.B.A.T.E. came to my Dr.Ed class today

Here's a fantastic video that is intended for new drivers: I made my son watch it. The intended audience is the kids that had to witness what you described.

    More Consequences of Ethanol

I have always believed that the ethanol mandate is a bad thing. Ethanol costs more to produce than gasoline, and consumes more energy than it yields when all inputs are considered. Not to mention the cost of cleaning a fuel system when it has been sitting in your gas tank for more than a...

    Linked Brakes

I rode a cruiser and used the front brake heavily, but know to do that when upright and in a straight line. That's probably why I had front tires wear out faster. Front tires are less $$ and easier to take off.

Best source to buy FJR parts?

I use cheapcycleparts.com. They are strictly an OEM parts supplier. It depends on the part as to whether it is cheaper than the dealer after shipping is added to the price. Since dealers don't stock much of anything, delivery time is about the same. Upside is that it comes to your house, not...

Greenville SC on global "does not suck" list

Me and the Mrs like what they have done with the downtown area. We have traveled over there for a couple of concerts at the Peace Center. In-laws are all from Laurens, so we have spent lots of time down there over the years.
