fuel tank leaking when disconnected for valve adjustment

Thanks for the replies. I removed all items from the bottom of the tank, because I needed to remove the tank to get good access for the valve clearance adjustment. The fuel definitely comes out the white plastic attachment on the tank. That's the one that had a clip on it, which needed to be...

fuel tank leaking when disconnected for valve adjustment

When I disconnected my fuel tank to do a valve check (and adjustment as it turns out), i noticed fuel continued to flow out the bottom, where normally it would stop. I'm guessing some sort of valve is not working? Has anybody experienced this and have any suggestions? It was my second valve...

rear wheel differences in wheel bearing location

So i put in another 6204 bearing, and it was then identical to my other wheel! Installed it, and took it for a ride - no problems. I find it surprising that there are two 6204 bearings there... that's serious overkill for a motorcycle if you ask me. But im not complaining. I wonder why they...

rear wheel differences in wheel bearing location

where would the spacer go? on the outside of that shaft side bearing to take up the space? the OD would be the OD of the bearing, but how about the ID? if it's only the thickness of the outer bearing race, then maybe that would work, and it wouldn't hug the axle. but if i used another bearing...

rear wheel differences in wheel bearing location

Thanks very much for the replies. I know you guys didn't get the 2001, but it should be the same as your 2003. It makes sense that the fjrtech article was a 2004. The bearing on that is further in, and according to the fjr comparison matrix your 2004 is the same as Australian 2003. My new wheel...

rear wheel differences in wheel bearing location

https://www.fjrtech.net/getdbitem.cfm?item=36 Looking at the pics there, it looks like the bearing is further in. is the 2001 model different? there are a couple of little things that are different... but this would mean the swingarm or spacer sizes have to be different.

rear wheel differences in wheel bearing location

I am based in Australia, and have a 2001 model FJR. Had it for a few years, and it's been a great bike. A couple of months ago, a set of wheels became available locally very cheap from a 2003 model, and I bought them. My rear tyre is nearly worn, so I thought I would change to the new wheel...

Split: Cheap aluminum radiators on ebay?

My read of his post is that he's asking about actual radiators, not guards (which is what the original post was). I don't know of anybody who has fitted one of those aftermarket radiators. If you go to a radiator place, they may be able to repair your one. Or you could get a second hand one. I...

    wheel bearing replacement

if you hit the outer part of the bearing, it's fine. i've always used a socket on the outer part of the wheel bearing (never the inner), and gently tapped it into place. never had a problem.

The Really, Definitely Completely Un-Authorized TBS

I did this on my 2001 FJR about a month ago, before a 3,000km trip. it greatly improved the vibration at around 4,500rpm in 5th gear, which is where i cruise at down the highway.
