2016 Is Official 6-spd, Slipper, LEDs, Analog Tach, Price

Nice refinements with the lighting and dash. Damn that blue is nice. 6 speed is meh to me, I find the engine has so much torque that I enjoy not having to shift as much compared to my other rides. Makes me wonder if this is the last refresh before a completely new model comes out. My wish...

Anyone using the GenII/GenIII seat from Seat concepts?

I've had 4 seatconcepts seats. The amount of power that the FJR has will make you slide to the back when you accelerate hard with the carbon fiber. It wears extremely well however. I had one on my KLR for 3 years and it showed little to no wear with the carbon fiber. I agree that the gripper...

Anyone using the GenII/GenIII seat from Seat concepts?

I did actually mention in in post #31 here it is again... " Just got back from a 2 hour solo no stopping to get off ride. Here are more impressions of this seat. The foam has just enough softness and firmness for this extended ride. I am able to adjust forward and rear. The seat does not...

Anyone using the GenII/GenIII seat from Seat concepts?

Nope. Just a matching cover for the OEM foam. I ordered the matching vinyl cover, but would vastly prefer a better foam too for the wife.

Anyone using the GenII/GenIII seat from Seat concepts?

I'm hoping that people enquiring with Seatconcepts will also enquire about a foam replacement for the passenger seat as well. Would be nice option for those that need it too.

Anyone using the GenII/GenIII seat from Seat concepts?

Sorry Uncle Hud, but no French in my abilities out in the West. I'm also an Island transplant from decades ago when I was 2. Thanks for the effort though!! So I decided to take some photos of the width of the seat so everyone can better see the sizing difference as well. Sorry the tape...

Anyone using the GenII/GenIII seat from Seat concepts?

Just got back from a 2 hour solo no stopping to get off ride. Here are more impressions of this seat. The foam has just enough softness and firmness for this extended ride. I am able to adjust forward and rear. The seat does not lock you in one position. Mostly I was just looking around and...

Anyone using the GenII/GenIII seat from Seat concepts?

xcsp, The seat is grippy for sure. You have to lift a bit to adjust. I have had the pure carbon seat and it's too slippery, especially with a powerful engine. The gripper Seatconcepts seat is similar to the OEM seat. I was trying to feel for change on the footpeg height and knee bend, but...

Anyone using the GenII/GenIII seat from Seat concepts?

Okay, just got back from a 25 minute ride with the wifey, so here is *ahem* my seat of the pants quick observation. First of all my specs: 5'7" during low gravitational pull, 180lb, 30 inch inseam. When you order your seat, they will ask you for your "true" weight, so don't fluff it up! 1...

    This Freakin' bike....

Anyone using the GenII/GenIII seat from Seat concepts?

I will follow-up with a ride soon, just need to find some free time in the next day or so, to get out for an extended ride before the snow flies. Cheers Rod

Anyone using the GenII/GenIII seat from Seat concepts?

Received my parcel yesterday: Here is the installation: First removal of the staples from the OEM seat. You can use a flat blade screwdriver, but this staple remover does a cleaner job and is easier to remove the staples. Then removing of the OEM foam. There was glue only on the front...

    FJR vs. Super Tenere question

Jack, you should really test ride the Super T. It is an amazing machine. I had a 2013. Great for long distances, super stable in slow stuff, rips 140km/h on gravel easily. Two -up on gravel roads is also fun. I miss it and wish I could have both in the stable. The riding position is very...

    Alberta Fall Tech Day 2015

Oh I didn't know there was tech days for the FJR for Albertians! Since I'm still a noob on this site, that is great to know. I am not able to attend that day however as I will be attending another event. Thanks

Anyone using the GenII/GenIII seat from Seat concepts?

I've done both glue and no glue. They will not provide glue. Easy to pick up the 3M spray glue. Seems to make no difference in keeping the foam/seat in place. Proper installation of the vinyl cover is what matters most. On the FJ-09 I had, even the OEM foam was not glued down. The KLR650...
