    My Spider Bite Story

LOL. I originally picked this thread because I thought for sure Spider Bites were my problem based on the rough running being so intermittent. But the wiring and splice joints were like new. S4 wiring is not burned like some of the photos here, but I need to reseat S4 metal cleat but so hard to...

    My Spider Bite Story

Appreciate the replies. I did pull S6 apart after the advice from rbentnail. They look new. No burning or scorching of the wires or the terminals. I've looked closely thru all the spider splices including S4, plastic and all look new. I was hoping the recall would be the fix, but not now. Today...

Also, In the 6months I've ridden this never any of the obvious electrical problems have happened, like lights not working, flashing dash lights etc as explained in similar threads.

    My Spider Bite Story

Hello all, I'm new to this thread, and studied all the photos. My 09 gen II, 17kmiles, has not had the wiring recalls and set to go in next week. My question, I have found S4 and S6, and the connections from schematics in other threads. All spiders with the caps off, and close inspection looks...

Update on this thread on rough running. Spent a few weeks sporadically working on the 09 Gen II due to vacations and other interruptions. Had the fuel tank on and off many times. Magnifying glasses look at all the vacuum hoses and replaced one cap that was cracking. Replaced vacuum sensor as...

Sudden 2014 FJR1300A starting, running problem. Canister issue?

Excellent RossKean. Fault codes, not yet. Ca model I don't think so by looking at the bottom of fairing. Rough running is getting worse and now 99% any throttle setting. For awhile it would smooth out above 3krpm, but not now. Fuel is clean, tank is clean. Have not yet checked the plugs or...

Sudden 2014 FJR1300A starting, running problem. Canister issue?

I have an 09 with similar idle and running issues. I just checked most of the vacuum lines and didn't find any crud. Where is the throttle pos sensor? On the right end of the throttle rail? Any photos? Thanks.

Again Ross, you are awesome for the time you spend to help all of us. I have watched videos w the manometer and know that it is within my skill range. I love learning new skills. As of now it's running perfectly and will cross that bridge if needed. I did also price manometers and are...

Update on my new to me black 2009. Thanks to this forum members and especially RossKean, my stumble on idle and launch is corrected. Spent a few hours, siphoned most of tank, and removed it. Inspection of hoses and caps found no obvious problems. Cleaned the air filter. And raised the idle...

    Ivan's ECU Flash

That answers my questions RossKean. Spot on. ty.

Appreciate the reply RossKean. . Bike has 16 k miles, and I've put only 500 of those. No rust issues in the tank. Before the rough idle it was low, about 800rpm. Rough idle stumbles at no throttle, not smooth. Then is affecting acceleration from a stop, once above 2500 rpm or so, normal...

    Ivan's ECU Flash

Good review of Ivan flash. I have an 09 1300a, and not familiar with drive modes? Are these on later years? What about changing exhaust after the flash? Would it need to be re flashed?
