"Mostly loaded" "I'm aggressive and drag pegs regularly" "Hardly showing signs of wear" "will get 10K mi. easily"
This made me laugh out loud. I replaced my last RSII @

4,150 because I didn't trust it to last for the 1,200 mile trip home.

The only way I'd get to 10K miles is on a trailer.
That was more-or-less my experience with the RS2 as well - maybe 6,000 total. I was thinking they might have improved them since I had them (maybe 7 years ago).

My Fuelly account indicates that March 12, 2017 I installed D RP@'s at 37,700.
I have since ridden 2 trips, and been commuting.

1) Cali - NV - AZ - NV - CA

2) Cali - NV - UT - NV - CA

Current mileage as of right now is 44,888. That's about 7,200mi.

Here is my fuelly profile, showing I get about 39mpg.

You can see that I am dragging my peg, and the Winpro sidestand.

This is my 2nd FJR. My first I put about 32k miles on, and ran through a number of sets of tires. I've put 7,400 on Madison Ivy thus far.

I'm 215 lbs. Usually ride solo, or with camp gear, or commute.

I'm not bragging. Just showing my results, riding style, and bike info.

Sounds like either I lucked out and got a really good set of tires, or you both got two bad sets of tires.

Gilla, you must have gotten the exception to the rule. RS-2s are the tires that stranded my wife and I in AZ on the way home from Cedar City. EXACTLY 6,027 miles on them, and they were TOAST. Looked like they were being peeled apart from the insides of the tread. I used to really like the original Road Smarts. I wouldn't put another set of RS-2s, unless I had no other choice.
