I didn't get a chance to meet the infamous "MEM" but if MEM or any other "easterners" out there could give a few thoughts on what the best way to get out to the "Cabot Trail" from way the F out here in Saskatchewan, it would be appreciated. I think I need to do that trip before I get too damn old :blink:

People tend to drop down toward to Duluth from Winnipeg area and then cross back at Sault Ste Marie. But, by doing that, you miss going around the top of Lake Superior and that's a beautiful ride - especially east of Wawa. You can go from Kenora, ON to SSM in one day - ~ 1200 kms (I've done it). Then it's just over 800km to Ottawa area.

From there head, east on ....20? 15 ? I'd have to look at a map. Drop down through the Eastern Townships into Maine and cross the border at Coburn Gore/Woburn. There a couple of nice routes to New Brunswick. Ottawa to Fredericton in one day is very doable (little over 900 kms). And it's an easy day to Cape Breton. Or it can be a long one - your choice

Arrived home yesterday afternoon @ 5:30.

Quite a trip, eh?

2565.9 miles. Mountains and high plains; desert and forest; mild heat, rain and snow (on Mt. Hood); great friends and great roads.

USBP certainly more interested in going through my stuff than Canada's folks. Maybe they just liked watching me sit in the rain while waiting.

Did some of Yellowstone and Mt. Rushmore on the way home. Had a close encounter with a bull buffalo-- they are big when they are 6 feet away and demanding 2/3s of the road! I gave it to him.

106 degrees in Rapid City, and I finally caught an actual tailwind 10 miles from my house.

Another one to mark off my bucket list.

Home at last.. the last 2 days of heat were nasty.

7403 miles / 11914 km for the round trip. Good thing I put new tires on the day befor I left home beecause they are very near the end of their life span right now. {pilot road 3's}

I'm ordering another set now

I was 2 days away from Castlegar in a podunk town when another Nafo rider showes up at the restauraunt saying he recognized my bike from the meet even though we never got a chance to meet in Canada. I was a little messed up so I lost his name.. Ray maybe? from Maine. That would never have happened if my bike wasn't a little odd looking compared to most.

On the 27th I was in Colorado stopping for the night when I met a couple from Manatoba rinding a Honda trike with a flat front tire, broken valve stem.

60 miles from any kind of bike service, no tire shop in town, no place to rent a car and no contacts available at fjrforum or the honda goldwings big list. Things weren't looking too good for him but as luck would have it, staying at the same hotel as us for the night was a man that works for BF Goodrich at racetracks around America. He had everything in the back of his truck including a 90 degree valve stem. It was nice to see his day go from disaster to sunny day.

Janet and I made it home tonight at 1930. 7492.5 miles in 16 days. The last three days were brutal hot. We ran with Vandy out of Canada and across the Going to the Sun and then seperated after hitting 89. We ended up making a whole day in the black hills after getting a new PR3 put on the rear in Sturgis. The damn thing still looks new. Awesome tire.

Had a great time and met some super people. Thanks to all that put NAFO together.

Got home today at 2:30 PM after a great return ride down Hwy. 95 for my first time. Spent the last night in Hawthorne Nevada and met Bruce aka Longrider in the El Capitan Casino cafe dinner time and invited myself to his table.

Sunday leaving Canada in the rain I learned when using my 3 year old rain suit for the first time that it worked OK. This was good because the border crossing was slow. I was "randomly selected" for a thorough screening but got checked out with the bike under the shelter and me in the office. They found nothing of interest and the rain had stopped by the time I entered the US.

I spent a couple of days in Troy Idaho with my cousin Kristy and her husband, Rick Scaraglino. They took Monday off work to show me around their area and I stayed an extra day, Tuesday, to avoid leaving in the rain. Did I mention they live on a hill with a dirt & gravel driveway? Wednesday I got a "Service Special" (oil change) at Moscow Motorsports and rode to Ontario Oregon.

We Stanley Boys are still out on the road, leaving Old Town Sacramento for Orange, CA to stay with my Sisters tonight. Had a great time here in Sac, great dinner with Old Michael and a ton of laughs with Mick. Spent yesterday exploring the River Waterfront: State Railroad Museum and all of the sights that made up Sacramento of the 1800's, California has a fantastic Capitol City. Like our Miss Tyler says, Seth and I are looking forward to sleeping in our own beds in the Chandler, AZ home on Sunday night. It has been a wonderful Father and Son Motorcycle two week adventure!

Ding, ding, ding!!! Stop the clock!! Have arrived home safely... exhausted but happy too. What a great 2 weeks... I think it's gonna take about 2 weeks to recuperate from it all!! :lol:

Mikey, Titlow Hill is an amazing road but, even though it's "only" 54 miles, it should be savored and enjoyed with the views and incredible scenery. Also, beware of the pot holes in the middle top section... some are marked with paint, some aren't... some are clearly visible, some are in the middle of a blind turn... some are small, some could do some serious damage to a bike should they run over/into them... it's easily maneuverable on 2-wheels but you do need to be on your guard. Oh, and the sand/fine gravel in a few turns makes it just that much more exciting... but the views make it all worthwhile (yes, I'll have a few pics coming soon! B) .
