I need a new battery for my 08. Considering getting one from Auto Zone and trying it. Or should I spend double a get the Yuasa?
Why not? When mine croaked last year I got one off the shelf from my Local Honda dealer, quick and easy! So far. so good.

"Most of the large capacity Powersports batteries are manufactured in our Laureldale, PA plant.
All other Powersports batteries are produced in a Yuasa state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in various countries throughout the world"

That's spelled "China".

Really?

Go to the following website and click on "Global".

Yes, there are some Chinese manufacturing locations but also MANY other locations around the world and in Japan. These days of global supply, a large international corporation such as Yuasa maintains quality standards throughout its facilities. "Made in XXXX" (insert your favorite off-shore lower cost manufacturing nation) no longer means poorer quality or lower standards! See what you can buy in terms of tools, hardware, electronics etc. without having at least some (or even all) parts coming from China!

Here is the yuasa on Amazon. $85. Had mine for 5 years. Still going strong.

The local dealers have the gs version for $160.

I'm not spending 160 on a battery in principal.

Are they different? I'll never know. But this one is a very good battery and I can recommend it.

Yup. And TEN of those locations are in China or Taiwan. Besides, it was meant to be a joke. I know China is not the only place batteries are made.

If you say, "Imported from the Far East" instead of "Made in China" it sounds so much better and sometimes folks even think it's a good thing!
