You're too hung up on clutch life. Go Ride Have fun. FJR is awesome. When clutch is done+ replace it. Not a high dollar item👍
You are replying to a 15 year old thread! The OP hasn't been here in 11 years...

I didn't do anything to the clutch (steels, friction plates, levers, brass bushing, hoses, master or slave cylinders) on my '07 in 12 years and 295,000 km.
Same with my current 2011 at 160,000 km. (Nothing other than changing fluid every two years plus annual maintenance/cleaning/greasing of lever, pivot and brass bushing).

The clutch is very durable. The clutch started slipping after about 50,000 miles on my 2006 AE. I replaced the friction plates and spring, but that didn’t fix it. It was a sticking clutch slave cylinder. I measured the thickness of the original friction discs and they were well within specifications and hardly any wear from new, so I kept them as spares.
