My 04 was a nut roaster. When I got my 08 it was much better. I have a 12 now and it is my favorite so far.

And I only did about half the country so you get the idea. Some of them have a lot of upgrades like top cases, heated grips, sliders, etc already done! https://www.searchtempest.com

This is awesome! Thanks guys! I'm putting the deezer up for sale this week. I don't think I will have much of an issue selling it. These things have a pretty solid demand. People love them. Great around town, but on the highway...not so much.

Thanks again!

Bakers are the bomb.

My 05 wears 4 baker air wings. They absolutely do the job. In the winter, I set them to deflect extra air away from me. In the summer, I get a nice breeze on my legs and on my stomach area depending on which ones I utilize.

A couple thoughts about Gen 1s: the older ya buy, the less they cost. FJRs like anything else, depreciate because of age. Heated grips weren't standard on the first generation. My aftermarket heated grips work like a charm. Standard on newer FJRs, ABS was an option on the 05, and mine has 'em: wouldn't ride without them. The engine heat? Love it 6 months out of the year. For those 6 months, the gen 1 is the best choice for me because of that. I live in Fla as well as you, and in the summer it's more of an issue. I Mine's got 45k on it and has been very reliable with the exception of my rear anti lock brakes: they died. The fronts are perfect, but the back will lock up like any other rear brake. I'm told this is common on the gen 1's with ABS. The rear ABS puke out after awhile. Fixable, but pricey: I elected to leave 'em be and ride. Not much of a problem for me as I don't use the rear brake a lot anyway, but thought it important enough to include here.

As you've probably figured out, you can get lotsa farkles on a Gen 1 and still hit your budget (have your cake and eat it too). One things for sure, it's a lot cheaper to buy a bike with farkles on it than it is to buy em new and install them yourself. That said, I'd be more concerned about what extra stuff comes with the bike. A couple big issues are aftermarket windshields and seats. They're pricey when new, but don't cost much on a used bike. Good luck !!!

The four wings I put on are a little hard to see as they are a perfect color match for the 05 FJR.
