Coolant Temp sensor wire interfering with air box?

Need some help. I am replacing the air filter on my 2006 FJR, and the coolant temp wire seems to be mis routed. As you can see in the picture, it is routed over the airbox, and was kinda pinched by the airbox cover. There is very little slack in the wire, so repositioning it seems to pull it very taught. I can reassemble the airbox, but not without pinching the wires.

I am the third owner of the bike, so I don't know if someone did some reassembly and mis routed the wire.

Can anyone tell me where the wire should be routed?
