Good luck and happy riding Henry!

Better get your directions sorted out before you leave...wouldn't want to end up lost in the bayous!

LOL!!!

I always get north and south right. But there has been a couple of times that I messed up east and west. I hate it when I get on a freeway in a new-to-me place and say go east, just to realize I intended to go west!

Here's a ride we did back 2012 that was a great trip. https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php/topic/155051-searles-southwest-tour-2012

Trip of a lifetime. I highly recommend Page, AZ. Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend are must see.

Also consider Sedona, AZ. Here is a shot taken from the Sedona Airport, which has a scenic overlook.

No problem. Hope it helps out. I have the routes saved somewhere in Google maps. I'll dig those up and them to the ride report.

That ride did not include Sedona. I took the picture above on a trip last winter. Can't miss the scenic spot if you go to the airport though. A great route from Phoenix to Page is to run up to Prescott, AZ and then head over to The Haunted Hamburger in Jerome AZ on 89A. From there you can continue to Sedona and hit the scenic overlook. We did that route in a van, but kept thinking how great it would be on a bike. From there you go to Flagstaff and then it is pretty much a boring ride to Page. You could venture off to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon if you want. We didn't do it since I had already seen it from the north rim. I'm told the North Rim is better, but the South Rim has that crazy glass walkway.

No but the South Rim has that crazy glass walkway.
The skywalk is at the West Rim, which is between here (kingman ) and Vegas, Indian owned & the cost is about $80 to walk on it.
