Unique indeed.....and what an all around classy bunch, too. Total respect for the competitors and those contributing to this thread from all corners. I've followed this rally since '84 and it just keeps getting better in all aspects. 2017's IBR will impact each of us in many different ways.

John, we received via e-mail the locations of all bonuses the day before the start in .gpx, .csv, and .txt format. An IBR first, at the completion of every leg's rider's meeting, we were sent an e-mail with the point values for that specific leg, in .txt and .csv formats. I have never been up and routing faster for a rally than this IBR.

Two Finished (71st & 81st), two dropped out early in the rally. They become the 2nd and 3rd oldest finishers of the rally behind 2015 finisher Al Holstberry at 79 years old!

I believe that Troy had to switch bikes to finish which cost him half of his points. However, IBR rules state that while you lose points, switching bikes won't cost you finisher status if you would have had enough points to qualify without the bike switch point loss.

That's how it started for me. I hung out here following a couple of IBR and woke up one day with an FJR in the garage space formerly occupied by a 1150RT.

Yes (in reply to "Is this helpful." Now all you need to do is add the points that each bonus was worth in each of the 3 legs (you would have 3 tables similar to this). The method you used to create this data, would it be a viable procedure from a time stand point if you were on the clock? Thanks for the effort.

Points are there, after the lat/long., although I added them after Warren quoted my initial post without them.
Absolutely.. but the riders are given the data in several forms - I'm sure not everyone could quickly produce a consolidated table like that. I used Excel and a Unix-based editor called Vi. Basically paste all of the info into a spreadsheet (every line is its own row), and just a few references to the different "fields" alongside the bonus code - using some text string functions to extract the coordinates and concatenate the address. Pasted those functions all the way down to the end, then used Vi to delete every line that didn't start with three capital letters
