Flaking finish on left side crank cover

I was washing down my bike after my recent trip and noticed that the finish is flaking off on the underside of the case. The case cover has never had a good smooth finish but this is the first I've noticed it coming off, exposing the aluminum

What I want to know

What is the colour /paint code?

What is the type of finish, paint with clear coat or enamel ?

Is it worth getting repaired or just buy a new shiny cover?

If it was me, I'd just ride it as is. But then my FJR is nine and has 73,000 miles and looks like it. Also, if you drop it on that side, you'll be wanting to replace it...again.
