Muzzy Repacking.
I found a very high temp packing material for aftermarket exhausts. It's normall used in Kilns, read about it on another forum, one person has repacked his muffler twice is 8 years. I just purchased some from Pottery House, out your way https://www.pshcanada.com/ you'll find it under Kiln Building and repair.
Fiber Blanket and Paper
2300 blanket is rated to 2300ºF, but is recommended for a maximum of 2000ºF. 2600 blanket is strongly recommended as a superior hot face material up to 2400ºF. Prices are for 8 lb/cu.ft density, 24" wide - other densities, and 48" width, are available in carton lots. These products contain no asbestos.
New! Bio-soluble fibre (CaMgSi) 2200ºF blanket is now available along with regular (AlSi ) 2300 blanket priced below. Prices are the same for both. Please specify which type when ordering.
R23BD 2300 blanket, 1/2"
Similar product is also available in the U.S.
