Sorry for the delay between Parts 3 and 4....life happens.
OK, we ended Part 3 with Oregon coast line pics, so we will begin Part 4 with somemore of the same.
We found this guy enjoying the day near Florence, OR.
Once acrossed the California state line, we stopped for some gas and an elderly man told us we should stop in Trinidad, CA at this place for some seafood.
This is one view from the dining area of the restaurant.
Walking along the pier behind the restaurant you could see these guys. Different colors....interesting.
We exited Rt.101 onto Rt. 211. Rt. 211 would be a fantastic road for motorcycles except it's in very poor condition as you can see.
While riding along on Rt. 211 nearing Humboldt Redwoods State Park, we encounter these guys. I must say, the black one seemed like he had an aggressive behavior. The three didn't want to move simply by our horns. Fortunately, a white mini van came along and cleared the way for us.
And then we entered the Humboldt Redwoods State Park. Them redwoods are big mothers!
I did say big right?
We then got back on Rt.101 to visit the Avenue of the Giants (yes more giant redwoods). Including this guy that you can drive thru.....here comes Iris.
OK, how about a couple of pics of the Northern California coastline.
Now on Cal. Rt.1, I think Iris was really enjoying the twisties and sweepers (me too).
Hey, aren't these guys suppose to be in the woods? Must be the amphibious version.
Note the yellow sign with the cow silhouette....on this road with no guide rails? Yup, sure enough there they were and their droppings. How do you say pucker?
Rt.1, what a beautiful ride. At the South end of Rt.1, we picked up Rt. 101 South across the famous Golden Gate Bridge.....just about dusk.
Someone suggested Sinbads Resturant in San Francisco, for dinner.....so we did. Sorry about the blur.
The Oakland Bay bridge from behind Sinbads Resturant. Night exposure, what can I say?
The next day we headed East and picked up Rt. 4 (did I mention another day of sunshine). Once you get East of Angels Camp, CA Rt.4 is a scream thru Ebbetts Pass.
We arrived back at Cary and Cheryl's house on Wed. 17 July at about 4:00PM, 10 days, 3,100 miles from when we started our tour on the bikes. Trust me, Iris' smile is not because we were done riding.
Bikes on board the trailer, we head East back to New York (3 long days, 2800 miles). This pic is at the rest area on the Great Salt Flats in Utah.
I thought this was a fitting picture to end our story of "Our Trip out West 2008". This is looking back West, while driving on the Great Salt Flats.
Thanks for coming along, hope you enjoyed.
