I think Thompson Pass going into Valdez is one of the most beautiful spots in Alaska Pictures just don't do it justice.

Well back again, after we are rode the beautiful canyon into Valdez we got settled in our room and as usual we were in late.

Valdez is any other fishing village I have seen on the coast of Wa. Old hotels, fishermen telling fish stories SOS. BUT!

George and I are hungry and he does his phone thing as he did the whole trip finding places to eat or stay. Good job George.

We walk to town and there were Three, Four places to eat but George wanted to go here.

The Fat Mermaid.

We both had a couple of brews, and ate Hors d'oeurve's for dinner. Me I could have had a couple of more brews but it didn't matter as the smell of the harbor was intoxicating! When we finished we walked a bit.

The nest morning the hotel had a decent breakfast so we enjoyed loaded up and walked across the street and went to the Valdez museum.

I've lost a few pic's that told a story about a cruise ship catching fire and the life boat. Also one of what they call the pig, the pigs are use to go thru the pipeline to clean the paraffin of the walls of the pipe or do other types of maintenance. Oh well.

The museum was nice and also told the story of the big quake in the early sixty's, an old work mates wife RossAnn dad died when the tsunami came. I saw his name on the list.

I told you earlier that we saw a Glacier but didn't know the name, on the way in we decided that we would stop on the way out.

DSCN0730_zpsllsgver9.jpg

Really saw more from the Rd, that's OK.

DSCN0731_zpsf4svbf9y.jpg

On to Tok.

Lots of scrawny trees, to harsh of and environment!

Kind of a wide open ride, meaning lots of open country.

Spent the night in Tok at the Golden Bear and ate at Fast Eddie's.

Night

We get out of Tok a little earlier and on to Whitehorse for the night. So far we haven't traveled any of the same roads, today we will but only between Tok & Tetlin Junction.

Weather started changing so the camera went away arived in Whitehorse and G did his thing finding us accommodations and food.

Got up the next morning and headed for Laird river, this will be a road we traveled as far as Watson Lk then it will be new Rd for us again.

DSCN0784_zpsewvkkvqc.jpg

After crossing back into BC you start seeing these.

DSCN0790_zpsfgowxucu.jpg

They really keep the roads cleared back for them.

We get to Laird Hot Springs thinking we would camp and soak but the camp ground was full. They told us we could stay in the overflow across the street but it wasn't much but a big dirt lot. Back up the road is a little lodge camp ground and also where you also buy fuel. Rooms were expensive so we decided to camp.

DSCN0797_zps33hoz3ao.jpg

Camping is a bit of a hassle as I have this Bi-Pap machine to deal with, but I have found a small battery that I can carry in the machines bag along with all of the vitamins and other stuff required to survive, I take the water chamber off to make room. The battery won't run the heater anyhow.

DSCN0801_zpscmi2gwhp.jpg

I can charge going down the road also.

DSCN0800_zps7odj3sfo.jpg

Had a campfire after dinner at the lodge. So so dinner.

DSCN0798_zpsgprfsd9o.jpg

Went out for a little walk as I wanted to scope out the shower. Found these in the parking lot 40 yards away from camp.

DSCN0804_zpsshasjvxi.jpg

DSCN0802_zpsn85vtu46.jpg

Sure hope they don't go for a run thru the camp ground!

DSCN0803_zpsqy7gjwtm.jpg

Tomorrow we head for Fort St John.
