I updated to 4.1. It isn't louder but it sure sounds better!.

My rig: (the perfect setup I think)

Westone CR1 In Ear Monitors

Sena SMH10 v4.1

Sena SMH 0303 (earbud adapter)

Sena SR10 BT Hub v1.2

Android HTC Glacier 4G

Garmin 660

Escort 9500ix

It all WORKS!

  • Pair Phone to Garmin (HFP only). I can see and place calls from Garmin.
Pair Phone to Sena SMH10 (A2DP Stereo) I can hear High Quality .flac/.mp3 through Westones/Sena. Start/Stop/Pause/Track Fwd/Rev from Jog Dial
Pair SR10 to Sena SMH10 (HFP)
Plug Garmin into SR10 (need ground loop isolator, otherwise its noisy as hell and keeps the channel open). I can talk on phone, and hear voice navigation instructions.
Plug Escort into SR10. (Radar Alerts through IEMs).

Skyvi (SIRI for Android) will read incoming texts. :) I'm sure it can send them too with VOX activation, but I'm not that cool yet.

Issues/Annoyances:

After Radar Alert, occasionally the MP3 will not resume. I need to press the Jog Dial to start playing. (minor)

I haven't really done much talking on the phone, but I did call myself and leave a message, and it sounded better than expected.

I just enable BT on the phone, turn on SR10 and SMH10, fire up the Garmin, and Escort and I am totally wireless to helmet with crystal clear audio, and relatively hands free operation.

So ya, I really really love it.

I have almost the same setup. Just updated to v4.1 but haven't given that a spin yet. CR-1 have been fitted but weighting. BEATS for now. I think you're right in that it is probably the best way to do BT. There have been some major annoyances though. My SR10 will always stay paired to the SMH10 through 24 or 48 hours, the way it should be. But my Zumo 665 / SMH10 will drop the A2DP connection from time to time. I can **usually** After about 12,000 miles putzing with this last 45 days, I figured out turning the SMH10 off and on seems to re-educate it (sometimes I have to do this 3 times). I used to selectively re-pair it everytime, kinda a PITA.

Also, to use the satellite and music features of the 665 (which I do OFTEN) I have to have the SENA SMH10 volume up all the way (or close to it with earbuds). This means that the radar detector is very loud. I have the radar detector set for the minimum volume at which the SR10 will cut in, but it is quite loud. Tolerable, but I've asked SENA to alter the threshold of the SR10.

Unlike you I can't live with the Zumo hardwired as a need it connected with A2DP.

Even with these frustrations it is a better setup that Scatterbox or Cardo Systems. Overall I'm pleased. Getting the CR-1 with higher sensitivity will hopefully allow me to operate SMH10 with the volume a little lower and may solve my loud V-1 beeping as well.

I couldn't get used to the pairing the Zumo to the SMH10, the MP3 player is very limited codec wise, and there is no EQ. I prefer the A2DP from the phone, and PowerAMP.

I'll wait until Garmin updates the BT Firmware before trying again.

Yeah, better from the phone, no doubt, but I use the XM for 70% of my rides. So I'm stuck there for now.

I have then Sena SMH10 also. The 4.1 release did make the audio quality even better. I use Klipch S4 earbuds and paired with my Droid Razr. Very happy. :clapping:

Did 4.1 fix the shitty audio? I bought the SMH10's updated them from 3.x to 4.x and the audio was super shitty so I sent them back.
