Thanks Tyler, it was 5 f'n am when I posted. My pos honda garmin routed me 50 miles farther but it was worth for beautiful Utah. 685 miles today....Uffda
The Beaver, UT southern path (instead of the straighter Hwy 50 path to Salina) was the 50 mile addition? Now that you've got the Great Basin outta the way, I'm envious of tomorrow's ride. Have a great one, Doug!

Here is a corrected link for Doug's trip. https://spotwalla.co...d954162c19596e3
FWIW, he is slabbing across 50 and I-70 so far. Pretty good progress, but missing a lot of good stuff on the interstates.

Doug, Remember once you leave Colorado and until you get to Missouri, the scenery sucks. Take your time in paradise. If your plans are to ride into PA and pick up the Skyline Drive or other routes through WV south to NC, just PM for a place to stay east of Pittsburgh. I'll travel to the EOM with you, and we are empty nesters in a 5 bedroom house. It's not a bad stop if it works for you.

Thanks Rich. Yes and much better than flat old 50. Really enjoyed the green scenery and even a little rain. You know how nice that is compared to home these days. Smoke was thick at blue canyon this morning.

I was thinking of you as you were blasting through Hays, KS according to the Spot. Tomorrow should be better.

What day are you arriving at EOM. My plans are consolidating, and it looks like I'll be in Lewisburg Thursday night and taking Hwy 16 to the Blue Ridge, then down to Magee Valley on Friday.

I am going to learn how to make Armadillo pie. Southern Missouri was full of them as road kill. Today was great, enjoyed the sunrise in 70 degrees and 90% humidity. nice big motor ways and the green everything.

Dougie Bear, here is the recipe for Armadillo Pie that our HotRodZilla gave me! He said his la Familia ate it once a month on their ranch outside of Moriarty, New Mexico!

ARMADILLO PIE

1 Pound Armadillo Meat
1 Onion, chopped
1 Package Frozen Mixed vegetables
1 T. Mixed Dry Herbs
1 Envelope Brown Gravy Mix
2 Pie Crusts
AJ said that you can substitute rattlesnake, if the armadillos are hibernating. Cut meat into small pieces and sauté in a dab of bacon grease until lightly browned. Pour in a cup of water, the chopped onions and mixed herbs. Cover and simmer until the meat is tender More water can be added if needed. Add the mixed vegetables and continue to simmer until they are done. Adjust the liquid to slightly less than one cup and stir in the brown gravy mix. Simmer until the gravy is thickened.

Put one unbaked pie crust in a deep pie dish, pour in the meat and vegetable mixture and put on the top crust. Seal the edges and make slits in the top crust to let the steam escape. Bake about 20 to 30 minutes in a 450 oven or until nicely browned.

PS: Bugnatr, if you return home by way of Albuquerque 'Zilla said he has a fantastic recipe for Armadillo Enchiladas. See if he will write down the recipe for us, muchas gracias!

Ummmm, it's tailgating season here in the Southland. I'm gonna steal this recipe, substitute pork for the armordilla, and add jack cheese. The guys will love it!

Thanks, y'all.

To Bugnatr: Hope you've exorcised those ghosts.

I kept a few spirits to share with Zilla at EOM.

2900 miles so far, having a ball.

On the way home with the traditional stay in Ely at the Jailhouse casino. 6,120 miles so far with an easy 410 to blast home tomorrow. Four states today New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Nevada. The coolest weather on this trip has been out west with temps down in the low 40's over the passes. Southern Utah is awesome!

I enjoyed meeting you and am glad you have had a good trip around the country on your Hondapotomus.

Doug,

It was great to meet and spend time with you. What a blast! 2016 Spanky and I will probably being doing a cross country ride. We will definitely have to hook up when we are in Cali. Glad you made it home safe.

FYB! 410 miles to go today but it's the home stretch so it will be cake. You always have a standing invite to stay with us out west. I had more fun than words can express during my EOM visit. It was great to meet some of the wives in the group, seems like you guys married up just like the boys out west. We have a bunch of folks hanging out in this place and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people.
