As some might recall, last year our son adopted Miss L.L/L and I rode her up to Seattlish from O.C.

A couple months later they moved across the state and have been enjoying drier weather.

Next week Ill do the Second Annual Road Trip to the PNW, this time both directions - and aboard the Hondapotomus. The itinerary looks something like this:

Monday, 8 July, ride from home to Bay Area (Concord) and spend a couple nights at my sisters place.

Wednesday, 10 July, ride to Bend, Or.

Thursday, 11 July, ride to Olympia, WA and spend a couple nights at #1 sons place.

Saturday, 13 July, ride to Snohomish, WA and spend a couple days at daughters place.

Monday, 15 July, meet #2 son & Miss LL/L in Leavenworth for food and some riding (some big dam, etc.) and then a couple nights at his place.

Wednesday, 17 July, ride back to Bend, OR

Thursday, 18 July, ride to Virginia City, NV.

Friday, 19 July, ride home.

With the exception of the first & last days when Im escaping from/returning to SoCal, my daily (+/-400 mile) routes will avoid metro areas and I-5. Looking forward to beautiful roads & views, descent weather, and fresh air.

If any of yall happen to be on or near my routes and would like to meet up for breakfast or coffee, drop me a PM and we can figure something out. Route/road suggestions welcome. I have a framework but spontaneity is part of the fun.

I don't know how you feel about making a 500 miles day but this would be my suggestion for your ride from Bend to Olympia. If instead of staying in Bend you stretch it to Redmond or further up North the day before you may be able to get it close to your 400 miles day. On the other hand there are so many great places and roads between the Bay and Bend...

Last year I went up 97 from Bend to Yakima, then 90 toward Snohomish.

My thought this year was to take 12 west from Yakima. Are you familiar with 12? Looks like it has some nice curves and off the beaten path?

When you are going north or south on Hwy 97 in Oregon Stop in Lapine and I'll buy you a Reuben.

500 mile days are not a problem. (Concord to Bend is 475). FJRs & Wingabagos just eat up the miles.

There’s a nice little motel in Bend - clean, comfortable, and not too expensive - where I have reservations. And a good spot for breakfast just a couple blocks away.

WA12 going West from Yakima (White Pass) is fun, not exactly WA20 fun but still great. If you did already 97 North you could take the route below through Hanford. If curves is what you are after than you'll truly enjoy that section between Willowdale and Heppner.

Looks nice - and I’ve never ridden along the river.

I'm in the same zip code Bret, just north of Monroe. If you have time for breakfast or coffee would love to say hey!

IIRC you should have my number from your last trip up here?
