I have used the search function for V-Stream and got 0 results....so does anyone have any experience with the V-Stream replacement windshield on the FJR? All comments would be appreciated, as I got this windshield with the bike so you won't be hurting my feelings Anyway after replacing some plastic screws (heads broken off by PO) last night I went ahead and put on the v-stream instead of the stock. Looks kinda big and ugly......just saying though. Was just hoping for some experience before I took her out this weekend.

Thanks guys,

Rexford

LOTS of info on the V-stream on this forum. Try searching again.

I've got one, and with the spacers, it's the bestest, quietest, most comfortable shield I've used. BUt blocks way too much to use in the summer, so it's a spring/fall accessory for me.

What are you searching on? I found 136 search results using the forum search and nearly 700 using v-stream site:fjrforum.com at Google.

Having used stock, CB, CalSci, and V-Stream.....the latter is my preferred windshield.

Agree about big and ugly. Also agree it's the best for cold-weather protection, short of a roof and roll-up windows. Still, look forward to the annual spring removal of the V-Stream and the Suzuki handguards.

Wait.....what spacers? There where no spacers in the box that the PO gave me with the windshield.... And for searching, I typed V-Stream in the box at the top of our forum page and hit the spyglass button. Not good with a computer and don't spend a whole lot of time on one...don't plan to start now either.....kinda ole school. No cable or dish either, just rabbit ears.

The spacers are an aftermarket modification to the windshield mount brackets that tip the windshield back a little. I don't think they will work on your 08 because Yamaha changed the windshield mechanism.

As far as searching, I'd suggest using google (as mentioned by our illustrious forum admin above) for searching. Just put the bold text he typed in the search window at google.com and you'll get lots of hits. BTW, you can use the same search method for any website on the internet.

As far as the Vstream shield, I have one and it's my favorite for winter use. In the summer I switch to a Cee Bailey flip shield that's only 2 inches taller than stock because it doesn't block so much air yet still greatly reduces the turbulence of the stock Yamaha shield.

I've been running a V-Stream for 4 years and really like it. It was big and clumsy at first (like my dick!) but I quickly got used to it and really enjoy it now. :yahoo:

Hey Rexford like mentioned typing v-stream site:fjrforum.com at Google is probably the best way to search the forum

but if you use the little search window like you did make sure you are back to the main forum page. For instances

if you drill down into a sub forum like Insurance I get no results searching v-stream but if go back to the main forum page

I get a bunch of hits. Just click the Green Forums hot button or click on the mountain at the top of the page to get you

to the main page.

no spacers, bought mine new.like others have said ,real nice in the winter-blocks alot of wind keeps air off my helmet.put it back on today.

I also have a VStream windshield for the colder months. It has worked better for me than some of the other shields I tried. When in the full up position I have a pretty quiet pocket of air to sit in. It is big and ugly but great function.

Hey guys...thanks for all of the help on this subject. I guess I kinda freaked when someone mentioned spacers! I will be trying out the windshield this weekend or this week. Really am impressed with this bike.

Sorry, as mentioned above...I am not computer savy! Besides, this way I feel that I am getting to know some of the members here so I can look forward to meeting them at some of the rallies and meetups! I will try not to bother you folks too much in the future. I thought that the purpose for forums was to associate with fellow riders of like mind.

You thought wrong. The purpose of this place is to give newbies a hard time for asking questions we all already knew the answer to. THEN we try to con them into bringing beer to the rides. Haven't been real successful on that second part; I wonder why.

A couple things you should know: The search function on this board plain sucks. You are better using the Google search attempt like was shown above. That works much better.

Some people here have very delicate feelings, and it hurts their delicate feelings if the same question gets asked more than once very 5 years. They forget what it was like when they were new here. They will however, post up some smartassed comment on the question you asked instead of just moving along and ignoring it. So, either they are delicate, or they are just looking for a fight. SOMETIMES, the question is so stupid, that everyone jumps in, me included, to let that person know they are being dumb. Your question wasn't stupid, so it is what it is.

Most questions anyone is going to ask have already been answered here. Sometimes a search will find it, sometimes you're better off asking. Just be warned that if you ask, a few people will chime in about how you should have searched. You can ignore them at will, or let them get under your skin. If you let them get under your skin, we will all pounce and be assholes until you either get the "don't be so sensative" hint, or go away all together.

Either way, welcome, and don't forget to bring the beer to the next ride. :p

Well, I'm too stupid to get my feelings hurt....I'm not sensitive so I guess I will be bringing the beer! But I have been around that type before and I can ignore them.....after 30+ yrs of riding I've met all kinds. Hell you ought to meet the people who have been riding HD's for 3-5 yrs...or BMW riders when they look down their noses at other brands. Thing is...I ride them all and don't care!

I'm also considering the V Stream. I recently added the Baker wings and wonder how they will work in combination with the V Stream.
