    Cruise control flashing

Thanks again y'all. Got my service manual on Dropbox so was able to figure out the rear brake switch activates via spring... Duh. Just couldn't see it behind the rear set. Just ran bike for 20min and no issues. Seems like the tiny nub on the front brake switch was sticking. Will lube the rear...

    Cruise control flashing

Thanks guys. Did a WD lube this morning at the rear brake pedal pivot and front switch. Rear pedal wasn't really hanging up and dint feel gummy but WD can't hurt. Haven't run the bike for long enough to see if its better.  where is the rear switch? I can here it click when I push either lever...

    Cruise control flashing

Points on both brakes, gas, and clutch? Any guesses?

    Cruise control flashing

Contact points? .. Cruise control starts flashing after 15min or so. Key off and on resets and gives me another 20min. In the middle of a trip now so will be nice to have soon. Do I need to disassemble left handle bar switch? Tried to clean contact points but seems most are hidden.

    Updates and Closures on BRP

Here is a new route I threw together last night based on the closures and section of construction.  There's still some good curvies in there.  Give a shout if any of those roads look familiar.  Mainly between Meadows of Dan and Boone we'll be taking some off the beaten path stuff...

    Updates and Closures on BRP

Thanks guys.  I'm usually only on certain small sections of the Parkway at a time.  I ran into a little construction on our last trip but not much to sniff at.  The map pic I posted is actually from the NPS website, there's a link at the bottom.  This looks like ~200miles of construction, which...

    Updates and Closures on BRP

I have a route planned for this coming up Monday to ride from Wintergreen to Hendersonville and was going to do everything via the BRP.  I just got a notification that a small section of the parkway is closed due to road damage....no big deal....small detour.  However, upon pulling a map for...

    Letting go

From start to not quite finished...it's been a journey. Couldn't be more proud of the work that my father and I have done and the time he has invested in helping me.

    Letting go

As a young'un I watched and helped my dad build hundreds of old cars. He ran a classic car body shop for 40 years, solo, with no help. The ones that are passed down have the greatest meaning, for sure; but the ones you build from the ground up, and then pass down have the extra salt and blood...

    Sighting at Tapped Out

Burgundy FJR (Gen 3?) spotted at Jeb's Tapped Out Cycles in Raleigh yesterday. Just picked up my wheels and tires to get RS3 installed. Looks like you had the same plan with the RS3s. Jeb is an awesome guy. He's pumping out work now with new employees and lines out the door the last couple...

I've Been Unfaithful - To My FJR

You'll get it. Granted you came late to the party, so that takes more time. I switch between a mountain bike (with pedals), a YZ125 (without pedals), and the FJR daily. I never think twice. The mountain bike even has the front brake on the left. Lots of moto folks switch them, to me it's...

    It's hard to get maintenance...

Qualified and non-idiotic help is definitely hard to find. My dad ran a body shop for over 30 years. Old car restorations, fender benders, whatever. The only help he ever had was 1 guy he fired, myself, and my older and slower uncle (who worked for the free breakfast / lunch / have something...

    Ivan's ECU Flash

Reporting back....shipped to Ivan's on Friday, ECU was back in my hands yesterday (Tuesday). Purchased a Two-Brothers slip on (thanks mvette!) and decided the ECU was in order as well. Didn't ride the new pipes without the ECU flash, it was an all-in endeavor....so I can't report on whether...

Phone App for an "All-in-One" use

Too many places too little time. I imagine it's a bit different in that far land. One day we'll make it happen. The mountains of NC are too close but I'm slowly making my way towards the Mississippi.

Phone App for an "All-in-One" use

You need a new phone LOL Never had a problem using my phone as a do it all. Google maps for 99% of my riding with no issues. Create a route on MyMaps, export via map converter. Open in CoPilot for no-service vs google maps with service. Co pilot has all maps downloaded off line, all you...
