    2012 FJR Throttle Body Synch

Thanks, RaYzerman. I appreciate all the feedback. Very helpful. When I get the thing done in a few weeks, I'll report back.

    2012 FJR Throttle Body Synch

There are a few floating about the internet but some of them are pretty old, a bit spotty and the photographs are lousy. TwoWheelObsession has an excellent video on YouTube. It's worth watching. Like a lot of things in life, I've got a pretty good idea of what to expect but until you...

    2012 FJR Throttle Body Synch

Beautiful! Thanks . I've already installed the dampers. I won't be tackling this for a few more weeks but wanted to get my ducks in a row. The advice is greatly appreciated.

    2012 FJR Throttle Body Synch

Thanks for the advice. Okay ... one more question: Once the rubber boots are removed for hooking up the Carbtune hoses to the throttle bodies, I assume I'll be using the supplied adapters to screw into the brass fittings? And if so, what size?

    2012 FJR Throttle Body Synch

Getting ready to tackle a spark plug change & TBS on my '12 and have a couple of quick questions for the experts here. 1) I believe the #3 cylinder is the base to which the other throttle bodies are synchronized. Is this correct? 2) In addition, when replacing the plugs, is it worth it to...

    Rear-Ended at 70mph—I’m Done!

I'm so sorry to hear of your plight. Being rear-ended has been my biggest fear during the 40 years I've been riding. I've avoided it so far ... but nobody is immune to the immense stupidity which afflicts so my drivers nowadays, particularly with the proliferation of texting. A local sports...

SE Ohio Ramble Home Safe Check-In Thread

Sorry I couldn't join you guys this past weekend. Family gig I needed to attend. Also sorry about that damned wind. It has been fierce this whole year. Hopefully, if there's a return engagement I'll be able to join y'all.

What did you do to your FJR today?

After the longest and most freaking miserable winter of my life, I took the day off work and got a decent ride im...

    CFO 2013 Dates are Set!

Would love to make it. Because I work for a school and we're technically not supposed to take time off in September, it might be a challenge. But, hey, I've met a few challenges in my career!

"Consumer Reports:" Yamaha most reliable motorcycle !

While I'm not a huge fan of Consumer Reports methodology, I do think it shows trends. Maybe most H-D owners have the mechanical skills of a 7th grade Home Economics student and it skews the figures. And maybe BMW owners are all skiing and playing golf and don't have time to properly fill the...

    Periodic winter start ups ?

I don't see the need or reason to start the bike up during the winter. I don't know if running it that long at low revs recharges it enough to make it worth it, particularly considering the bike runs rich when it first starts up, which adds to contamination unless you burn it off with a decent...

Honda Pan vs. FJR Gen III

Until its recent recasting, the Yamaha FJR 1300 was not either a model of equipment… It will have been necessary to wait this New Year 2013 to have of a speed regulator, a choice of cartographic of injection or a windshield which do not return systematically in low position when the contact is...

The FJR has pushed my cruiser into oblivion

I confess I've never gotten the whole cruiser thing. The riding position cripples my spine, they don't handle very well, I can't stand loud pipes and...well, you get what I'm saying. The whole poser thing doesn't float my valves. So welcome to the sport touring world. Real bikes for the Real...

    FNG's test ride impression

Most people compare it to the sound of The Jetsons space-age car. I've owned both. Neither is exactly a personality plus motorcycle, but "personality" often translates to "unwanted vibration". Both are smooth, competent machines. I feel the FJR oozes a bit more personality because it handles...
