Hi doddsy ! No, the problem never returned after I returned the idle. I've had the bike 1 year and 14,000 miles later with no error codes or any other problems. The bike runs great! See if your mechanic can look into your "gear sensor upgrade", which could be the obvious source of the problem...

Something is WRONG! Take it to the shop and fix her! My AE shifts super smooth all the time in all gears.

Ditto to all.....that sucks! I always use the center stand during any lengthy parking or ovenight storage. I got into the habit after a parking lot spill in hot asphalt, which made the side stand slide out from under my bike....that sucked too!
