    How old were you?

I was 16 when I bought my first motorcycle. A Honda CB400T. It was all black with orange stripes and a cafe fairing.

    22 days and 6,648 miles

On this bike it's never too long. I would have loved to keep going. If it wasn't for the annoying fact that you need to make money in order to spend it I'd still be out there! Here's some more picks: Cannon Beach, Oregon: Yosemite in the morning: Las Vegas. The last time I...

    22 days and 6,648 miles

I was going to stop and take pictures of Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier. I even took highway 12 on my way to the coast specifically to do that. But I hit the day and a half of rain traveling from Coeur D'Alene to Astoria. I ended up taking highway 131 to Windy Ridge anyway but when I got to...

    22 days and 6,648 miles

I had some free time on my hands with nothing to do and some money put away. So four weeks ago I decided to take a tour of the western United States on my 2006 FJR1300AE. I planned to see the following on this trip: Mt. Rushmore Crazy Horse Monument Grand Tetons National Park Yellowstone...

How was your sunrise this morning?

Pacific Northwest sunrises aren't too bad either. I took this from Chanticleer Point in the Columbia Gorge, just east of Portland, Oregon.

New to Dallas / Fort Worth - Questions

Although I agree with Doughby on quality he belongs (through no fault of his own) to the wrong pizza company. Right now all our pizza company has is a giant gas powered pizza cutter (insert maniacal laugh here).

New to Dallas / Fort Worth - Questions

I just moved from the Pacific Northwest to North East Dallas (Lavon). Can any of you in the area (Plano, Garland, Wylie, Sachse, Rowlett, Rockwall, etc...) recommend dealerships for service and good sources for tires? Thanks,

Windy Ridge / Mt. St. Helens

It was a beautiful day yesterday so I decided to ride up to Windy Ridge. To my delight there was hardly any traffic. And absolutely no squids to watch out for! :yahoo: Even the Harley riders were nice enough to pull over and let me pass when I came up on them. Wow. The road leading up to...

Corbin Smuggler Picture on a 2007 FJR

The smuggler is different between Gen I and Gen II. Here's a picture of my Gen II 2006 AE:

    Advanced Rider Training

The curves are a lot of fun especially at the end of the course when they let you ride the track at your own pace. That said, this is not a fast course. I found I could only get up to second gear on the straight away and the back turn. Only one lay down during drills. A rider went wide on a...

    Advanced Rider Training

I just took Team Oregon’s Advanced Rider Training (ART) course today and had a blast. :yahoo: It’s a great way to learn the correct way to corner and how to pick your lines through a turn. I would highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to improve their riding skills. There are...

    Rode the Columbia Gorge 5/9/09

State Route 14 is a great ride with incredible views. I rode from Vancouver to Kennewick and back on Friday. It's amazing how the terrain changes as you go from West to East. Count me in if you want to setup a ride to the Maryhill museum.

    Another silly Corbin quest.

When I bought my Gen II FJR I also ordered a Corbin front seat and a smuggler trunk. Unfortunately Corbin mixed up the order and sent me a Gen I front seat and smuggler trunk. They definitely do not fit. The seating area is narrower on the Gen I FJR than on the Gen II FJR by about an inch.
