basically, the stock tires suck. Mine also started wearing strangely at the same mileage. edges are ridgey and make a howl in turns. Get some PR2's and ull be good to go.

my stock tires are just at 5k miles and the front is cupped pretty badly, howls in the turns...will be replaced soon.

Head to Harbor freight and pick up a grinder for 10 bucks. I've had mine for years, they work great.

hmm I don't notice any vibes, but I do own a KLR as well. I hadn't ridden the KLR in a month since I bought the FJR and I thought something was wrong with it due to the vibes. Turned out I was right, my doohickey spring was broken...torsion spring in stalled. Still has lots of vibes but its not bad.

well My ride to work today proved that the clutch soak definitely helped. The bike also doesn't lurch anymore when I pop it into first from neutral in the morning. I am probably still going to do the R1 shift arm because good can always be better.
