Part of the "quiet" could be what's going on with the windshield.  My stock shield had a fair bit of helmet roar (6'3"), aftermarket shield gives me a pocket of still air with the shield all the way up.

I'm a one bike guy, but my brother just brought an XDiavel S. His main ride is a K1600GT. The Ducati is certainly not heavy, sluggish, or poor handling. The bike is a riot to ride. Try it, you'll like it!

+1 again, that's exactly what I do. My 15" Macbook lives in its own bag and lives in the topbox. It looks kind of like a giant scooter w/o the side bags, but it doesn't bother me at all.
