The roads between Nakusp -Kaslo...and Nakusp- Vernon, via the Fauquier ferry, Castlegar-New Denver-Nakusp, Creston-Kootenay Bay-Kaslo-Nakusp are all excellent.
We'll definitely be on those roads. Thanks for the recommendation.
Yikes - thanks for the heads up!
My lovely wife and I are going on our first road trip together. We're headed to the general area of Nelson/Nakusp British Columbia. She used to live around there many years ago so she has a vague idea of what towns are "pretty". But she's not a rider so she wouldn't know of any fun motorcycle...
I'd HIGHLY recommend 5A. Great road with sweeping curves, very little traffic. Avoid the Coquilhala. Boring as hell. If you have the time, the road either way from Whistler -> Lillooet -> Spences Bridge -> Merrit is a great ride. Check out my ride report here.
I used to live in the area and I concur with the above. Only other advice is WATCH FOR LARGE MAMMALS. Seriously. Elk and Bighorn Sheep are everywhere in the general area and are known for standing in the middle of the around just around the next curve...
Go ahead - ask me how I know.... :(...
Agreed. There were so many strikes against this product (unproven tech, unproven company, sketchy funding model, over priced, etc, etc) I said from the beginning this was destined to fail.
6'3", 240lbs here. FJR fits me great. It's got some adjustability in the seat height and handlebar positions so you may be able to "customize" it for yourself with few aftermarket farkles.
Yeah, you do... :)
Do you mean you don't want to rent a Harley or you do? Is there a problem with renting from Eagle Rider? When I lived in Nashville, I rented from them on a regular basis. They have a bunch of Hondas for rent. Same with Sloans in Murfreesboro.
Can't help you there. The price is what the price is.
You're welcome and, if you need a guide, let me know. I'll definitely be doing the trip again this summer. :)
Yeah - 8 was in great shape and a lot more fun than 97C. You and escapefjrtist need to come on up! :)
Ah! What kind of mining? I noticed past the "lake" was a strip mining type hole in the planet. Are the tailings as toxic as they looks? And I assume what I thought to be sand isn't?
