Donal - You're probably right. Wishful thinking, I suppose, that it's something simpler. Thanks very much for the lead on bramfrank's used starter.
Bramfrank - I just replied to your earlier post about your starter (before I saw your reply here). I may be in need of it. I'm also running a...
I may be in need of a starter for my Gen 1(2004). I'm still troubleshooting to see if it could be something else. And I need to research whether your starter will work in my Gen 1. But just in case, is your starter still available?
Wow... Lots of good discussion. Some of the techie stuff made my head hurt. I think I just need more coffee.
So far I've simply removed the battery and had it load tested. It tested out fine. I checked out connections at the battery and relay; no apparent issues there either. So I guess I'm...
Thanks for all the replies. I'll start troubleshooting at the battery: voltage check; load test; connections. Then move on to the relay. And the starter if all others options have crapped out.
And kmk - mine does not seem to be temperature sensitive. It started doing it months ago when temp's...
I've been periodically experiencing a weird starting issue with my '04 FJR. Was hoping someone might have encountered this before and could share their solution.
When I hit the starter switch, the starter responds for a fraction of a second, then stops. All power to the display goes away...
Beautiful pic's. Thanks for sharing.
The mountains (from east coast to western US) have always been a favorite destination for my family. Most often with four wheels rather than two unfortunately, but you gotta take the bad with the good. A good mountain hike, whether in the hills of AL, the...
Cool stories. Thanks for sharing, MEM. Wish I had thought about 'water therapy' when our 16 year old shepherd / malamute / mutt was suffering from severe arthritis.
I currently run with a cheap Chinese top box I found on eBay. It works, but it's too small, leaks when riding in steady rain, and leaves me wanting my old Givi back. So I was disheartened to hear how much trouble you had with the Givi mount on your Gen I. But based on others input, it sounds...
I agree. There are times when I really enjoy the loud / throaty growl of the Devil's with no silencer insert. But on a daily basis (I commute on my FJR) it's too much. Better is the ability to tailor to my mood / whims with the twist of a 10mm wrench. A poor mans tunable exhaust I suppose.
