Wendy Crockett and Ian McPhee ride a little ride...

Hey all - I just stumbled this thread when I came to post that our book has been released. Thank you for the kind words! The book is a real chonker at almost 800 pages, but the feedback (even from our non-motorcycle stunt readers) is that it's a very compelling story. It's kind of hard to...

Our World Record ride is now a book!

If this isn't allowed feel free to yank the post, or move it where it would be more appropriate. In 2022 Ian McPhee (aka Tabledrain) and I did a massive 100,000-ish mile bi-continental ride which resulted in a world record. It did NOT come without a fight! Everything that could go wrong did go...

RSVPing for 2, possibly 2.5 if we decide to bring the kid in the sidecar rig. Staying (hopefully) at our new home in the Spearfish area.

Looking for Fresno/Central Cal Area FJR Riders

I'm in Kernville - Not exactly the Fresno area, but it's a great place for you to ride to. Hit me up if you want some road suggestions around here. I have a motorcycle shop here and we're open every day but Wednesday, so if you get out this way please stop in and say hi!

Thanks Twigg - My thoughts exactly. Except my thoughts also had a crying baby and a handful of customers mixed in there real good too. After several unsuccessful attempts at extricating those ideas and transplanting them to the screen, you did the job for me :-) To expound: As you said, all...

Allen Hatcher has a loaner bike - Steve Bracken's FJR. I think I've heard this somewhere before, but this community is amazing!

Can't figure out how to repost a picture from my phone, but the standings have blown my mind. We've got so many awesome left-fielders here... It really gives you a better appreciation for the puzzle!!!

Susanville doesn't seem to have moved for a while; I hope s/he hasn't just gone home (especially since I know a few riders from Henderson, NV)

As far as rider sighting/encouragement etiquette, here's my feeling: Anything that doesn't slow me down or cause and unreasonable distraction. Waves, signs, thumbs up are all great. I really don't mind tag-alongs, within reason. If I'm on a surface street obviously looking for a bonus or...

I know I'm not the only one, but I can't wait to see the Leg 1 standings! Obviously my info has been primarily gleaned from the daily reports and voracious SPOT consumption, but WOW! There are some riders (Josh Mountain) whose only setting is "Epic", so it's not surprising to see he's gone for...

Looking at the group pic, I would hope everyone would get the points. It seems to me that they are all identifiable, especially since every rider had to check in. The powers that be know who is supposed to be there and should be able to deduce the owner of a single partially obscured number...

They won't release a list of names with their SPOT numbers for privacy/plausible deniability reasons. On that note, we probably don't want to divulge or speculate on the list about the rider's SPOT numbers to help maintain their privacy. We should be seeing the rider list before too long.

For the last few months I've been going through phases: One day I'm heartbroken to not be riding for the first time since 2009. The next I'm gripped by panic, thinking about all the incredible competitors and all the stuff I want to do to my bike, until I remember I'm not riding. These last...

LOL - I know, I know. I clicked "POST" and nothing happened three times. Then it got really exciting all at once Goodman4, I'm surprised to see Hopkinsville pop up on the forum. It was named after my grandfather (several "greats" down the line) Samuel Hopkins. I actually submitted his...
