    steering head sockets

Roy, Sent you a PM, don't know that you received it. So, I hereby relinquish my position in line, as I no longer need the socket. Sold the FJR after owning for 6 months, but that's another story. So everyone behind me on the list is now bumped up a notch. :clapping:

    Tourtech Side Stand enlargement foot

Not really, Does Yamaha use steel bolts into aluminum anywhere on the bike? Isn't that doing the same thing? Just wondering.

    Tourtech Side Stand enlargement foot

Actually, it's pretty light. Didn't weigh it, but the main base is aluminum, w/ stainless steel top plate. They did a pretty nice job on it, but as others noted, for the price they should have. Yup, I have all types of electrical box covers, "big foot" plastic/rubber pads...been there, done...

    Tourtech Side Stand enlargement foot

yup, I know about Fridays...I know you gotta stand up for yourself here as well, or you get squashed like a bug on a VStream at 100 mph. It's all good, clean fun. And yup, I am used to BMW prices, and BMW service costs as well. That's why when my dealer quoted me over $300 for my initial...

    Tourtech Side Stand enlargement foot

Nope, is this gonna be another friggin' "oil" thread? :bleh: I have yet to find many farkles that meet the value of their price. I thought the $176 I paid for a simple flat piece of black metal "rear rack" was waaayyy overpriced, but it works. Same here. If $60 keeps the bike up on a warm...

    Tourtech Side Stand enlargement foot

Another farkle for my '08 FJR. So has anyone else sprung for this? I guess a beer can would work, but I usually never have beer when riding. Side Stand Foot Pix from my scoot: I had to wait FOR-effin-EVER from Tourtech for this back-ordered item, but it works for me. I wish...

    Gen II Mirror spacers

Yup, the MultiVex mirrors do fit on top of the OE mirrors (double-back tape). I have never had a problem with the tape letting loose. Just use an alcohol wipe before putting over the stock mirror. I have used them on my previous 2 BMW R1200RT's, and now I have them on the FJR. On the RT's the...

    Oil Light on...

Yup, I am headed in the direction of you guys way of thinking. My light did not come on in the garage after the change at all while checking for leaks after the oil and filter change. It came on the next day (like you guys stated) after heading out for a ride, a few blocks down the road. Not...

    Oil Light on...

I was just in the manual (and under the bike) looking at this. The oil level switch just seems to have one long wire potted into the switch ass'y. It does not look to have an external connection down by the pan, unless I am missing something while standing on my head. The long lead seems just...

    Oil Light on...

Yup, I was just assuming it was a pressure sensor, thanks! Afa, it just being a simple switch in the oil pan sending to ground when closed, I think I'll just keep an eye on the oil sight level glass for now.

    Dealer performs hack job!

I just got around to checking into why I was getting a "loose" feel on turn-in, and a "creaking" noise while maneuvering the FJR in the garage, etc. If I would push down hard on the left grip, I'd get a bit of the "noise", same w/ the right grip. Turns out both upper triple tree clamp bolts...

    Oil Light on...

So a week or so ago I did the initial break in engine oil and filter change (throttle synch too....fuk that #2 vacuum port cap)! After putting on the new filter and filling w/ oil, I always run the engine to fill the filter and check for leaks, etc. It was fine....no oil light, etc. Oil level...

My first scratch on my '08

Hey man, Hope you got all the info. you needed. I got the 3M paint protect film installed on the side panels, and it looks great....you can't see it from 2 feet, anyway. I hope it will keep that area protected. I got my *ss kicked for asking this exact same question...it (the response) was a...

    boots scratching side cover?

Yeah, when my size 13's want to they can do some damage! When I have my feet positioned on the pegs correctly (front part of the foot on the peg), that does push my ankles a bit high. When cruzin down the slab, I can have my feet hooked by the heel on the pegs, but in the twisties...

    boots scratching side cover?

I manage that for 4-5 months up here. Guess there is no use for 3M Paint Protect film on this forum. I should see if Tankslapper has sold to anyone else here. Seems like the answer is no. Hey mods...I think I have all the useful info I need on this subject....hijack seems to be the order of...

Not, silver...black. I am talking of the painted side cover...not the frame.

    boots scratching side cover?

Don't quit your day job.. I THINK I get it... The bike has to look like sheite to prove you like to ride. But on the other hand, when a member here gets a new paint job on a friggin rear rack, you are all over how great it looks. This was my first effin ride on the scoot, just wanted to know...

    boots scratching side cover?

Well this sux a bit.. Just got back from my maiden voyage on the FJR...mostly loved it...learning Master Yoda riding position, etc. So the feelings were great, until I got home and did a fluid leak check, and walk-around. Seems my Oxtar boots (with hard ankle protectors) started rubbing said...
