    The best sport bike?

That's what I'm talking about! By far my favorite bike of all time. Been riding since the 70s. I have the black one (Thunder Grey). DK

Second Bike, need advice, farkles, etc...

Well I haven't seen a PM, but I found this today. First off, NO twitchy throttle, NO shavings on the drain plug (OK a couple of TINY pieces like almost any oil change on any vehicle.) The only problem I have is waiting for my buddies to catch up. :yahoo: This thing is FAST. It will hit 180...

    BMW S1000RR

I have about 2000 miles on the S1000 now. I took a three day trip on her up the "Devil's Highway" (Formerly US666, now AZ191) to Springerville, AZ one weekend. Not all day riding, but severl hours in the saddle each day. Not bad at all. I want to do a longer trip. I think I could handle it just...

    BMW S1000RR

I have not plugged in the red plug. What he is referring to is the plug that must be installed to go into "slick" mode. Slick mode allows more slip in the rear end and allows a wheelie of about 30degrees for 5 seconds. It is intended for use on a track with racing slicks. Of course even without...

    BMW S1000RR

About a week ago I took possesion of a Thunder Grey S1000RR. Wow - what a bike. I already have over 700 miles on it and will be taking it back to Sandia BMW for the first service on Tuesday. The thing feels feather light to me and it handles soooo nice. Quite different than the 1200GSA to say...

For All You Dirty DS Minded FJR Riders On This Forum!

Hey Joe, While I was at the Overland Expo held in April (just south of Tucson in Amado) I met Nicole on a DRZ400. She builds a really nice rack for it. Check it out https://www.ruggedrider.com And since this IS the dirty minded Riders forum.... she has a nice rack herself! And single! Hope...

    Death Valley Daze (2010-01-22)

It was good to meet you Don. If it makes you feel any better, you didn't look sick when I saw you. In fact, you looked better than you poor scotter did. But it looks like it all worked out OK for you. I had fun. Hope we have another group ride soon. DK

FJR Death Valley Daze: January 22-24 Great MC Ride!

I'm about half way home. Got to Mesa with bBolesAZ (AZbeemers). Will stay the night with my cousin and get on home tomorrow. Very nice time. The weather turned out to be great after all. The only problem was that because of the weather two days before many of the good sights were closed. Still...

    Cee Baily vs Post Office

I got the +4 +4 with flip. LOVE IT. No ear plugs needed. I think the power windshield is one of the things I like most about the FJR. I can't believe how much I move it during a ride. When things are exciting I tend to sit up and the screen then goes up. On long boring straight roads (plenty out...

FJR Death Valley Daze: January 22-24 Great MC Ride!

I'm riding rain or shine. Got the knobbies put on the scooter today. That would be the 1200GS, not the FJR ( that just wouldn't look right...). I hope to do Titus canyon and the racetrack. So I hope a bunch of women do take the jeep while their guys on FJRs are off on the pavment... :dribble...

    New Year's Day ride

You know Bust; I have to agree. Even though I live in the desert of southern NM, I'm five and a half hours away from the meeting place in the other direction. AND it was 19 degrees here this am, still only 25! Food poisoning at least! Have fun as$holes! DK aka jealous

    I'm a traitor now!

OK Wetdog, You have had it long enough to get some action photos. MORE PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!!!! I finally got mine too. 1200GS Adventure. It has been colder than a witches twitt down here (cold is a relative term. 48F for the high 22f low is cold for me.) Only 200 miles so far. The Gerbing's...

    fuze block FZ1 ?

I put one on my FJR. Very nice. As mentioned above it is very flexable. It makes it easy to add stuff later and not have to have a mis-match of fuses and holders. Mine is also under the seat. I like it so much I am getting another for my new 1200GS. Highly recommended. DK

    Devils Highway

That's fine. I just misunderstood. Now what TestRider was saying makes more sense. But I would like to go from the south up to north. So meeting in Safford at about 10am would still work. The we can both make it home Saturday night. Dk

    Devils Highway

OK then. Meeting somewhere on the south side of Tucson at about 10am would work for all of us. Maybe Joe could pick a spot on the south east side near I-10 so we could continue to Sanoita. Surely Devanator could find his way down to Tucson. Oh wait. Are you saying you only want to make this a...

    Devils Highway

I don't quit follow... We have already planned a two day trip south, Saturday through south east AZ and stay in Wilcox. Then Sunday up 191 and back home - where ever that may be. would your trip north be on Monday?

Yes. I will be riding the GS. I wanted to get it in time for this event and ride some of the dirt roads and see the really cool stuff in Death Valley.

Thanks Don. I got it home tonight. I only got to ride it around Tucson for an hour. Tomorrow I'll take it out in the "country" and get the tires dirty. :yahoo: DK
