I would guess the extreme heat plays into the abbrations. Wearing three layers of shorts seems to help. About 7 years ago I did a run thru SLC where I'm at now and on to WY. Same thing happened so when I returned I had a layer of foam put on to the saddle. Hail at Pikes Peak, lightning...

thanks for the suggestions. yes pikes peak is in colorado springs and you just follow the signs like the other poster said. the road is very nice. It hailed on us at the races Sunday. My 2004 has adjustable seat height? this is news to me.

I found a brown/black dash pin in the couple under the tank as suggested corroded. I suspect its a ground for ignition. I scraped clean and sprayed, and finished with dielectric grease. Any comments on using the grease in the coupler? Road it yesterday with no probs so far. Much appreciated...

Chuck35: No power added yet, although that is why I was looking at the IAT mentioned above. Drove it today with the sidestand switch bypassed without incident. Similar conditions, same tank of fuel. One more ride should be conclusive. Looks like the switch at this point.

I called dealer as you suggested and my TPS was R&R'd. Replacements aren't going out? I bypassed the stand switch and hope to test tomorrow. Then its the fuel, bat, harness conn, as you've suggested. Are any fault codes set with the failing TPS? 15,16? An observation, failures only...
