Sorry, but I'm picture posting challenged. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I can't add a link to my ad, or images from photobucket.

    FS: 2008 FJR1300 13K Miles Loaded w/extras in Oregon

Regrettably, it's time for me to let someone else enjoy the best bike I've ever owned: 2008 FJR 1300, Black, 13,900 miles, two adult owners (purchased new 5/09-I've owned it since 5/10). Mint condition, always garaged, never dropped, wrecked, scratched, dented or abused. Paint protection/clear...

    Getting to NAFO

The road you're looking for is on the Oregon side of the Columbia River, south of I-84: East Crown Point Highway/East Historic Columbia River Highway. Take the Corbett exit from I-84 to Corbett, then go east on the Historic Columbia River Highway. It's not a fast ride and the traffic shouldn't...

    Passport 8500 Radar Detector

I have a Passport 9500IX which has given me a false laser warning a few times. This usually happens at higher RPM such as when passing a car. The tech at Passport told me that if the vibration frequency transfered from the motorcycle to the detector was just right, it would trigger a laser...

    Getting to NAFO

I'm either going to go from Portland/84/Spokane/395 but may go over to Lewiston then up Hwy 95 since I've never been through northern Idaho. Still trying to figure out which route to take.

    Epic F**K up, Now what?

A magnet on a flexible shaft is what I used to fish out a pressure plate bolt that I dropped down that gaping hole in the clutch area. I spent what seemed like an hour trying to fish that bolt out without success. I figured I would need to pull the pan to get that bolt out. I wasn't real happy...

Do Barnett clutches or new Yamaha clutches fix notchy 1st/2nd shift?

I went down the dragging/clunking clutch road with my 2008 FJR. Tried the clutch soak. That did nothing for the dragging clutch. Tried different oils. That didn't help either. Plates and steels didn't look too bad-not burnt or warped. Clutch basket not worn. Pressure plate not warped. Plenty of...

    Volcano Ride 2010

If I can get away from work I was going to try to meet up with some of you FJR riders for the volcano ride. Since I live west of Portand, OR, I was thinking of going I-5 to HWY 503 past Cougar and along Swift Reservoir/NF90/NF25 then NF99 to Windy Ridge. Does that sound about right? Are people...

    Lower links

I also used the adjustable lowering links from Soupy's Performance to lower my '08 FJR. I slid the fork tubes up into the triple clamp .300" and adjusted the links to get the ride height I wanted. I don't know why more people don't use Soupy's links. They are well made and you can set the ride...

    gps install

I just installed a Garmin Nuvi 1490T on my FJR. The power lead also has the traffic antenna built in so I didn't think chopping up the power cable was a good idea. I added a weatherproof power outlet, which I bought at the parts store, under the seat. This way I could just plug in the supplied...

    WTB Trunk lock

Since you can't buy just one lock, it looks like I'll have to order that three lock set from Yamaha. What a joke. No doubt it will be on backorder like everything else I try to buy from Yamaha. At least I'll have some spares.

    grip puppies

I just installed my grip puppies this weekend. Soapy water did not work. I coated the insides of the grip puppies with dishwashing soap, sprayed a little water the hand grips and the grip pippies, and they slipped right on.

    WTB Trunk lock

I bought my FJR used and the spare lock was not included. Big surprise there! I bought a factory touring trunk and now I need a lock assembly. If anyone has a spare lock for sale, let me know. Thanks.

    Clutch drag

Yes, all the clutch plates were removed and replaced. The clutch lever travels well over an inch from the hand grip before it starts to grab. I'm going to pull it apart and check the runout on the clutch basket, hub and pressure plate and go from there.

    Clutch drag

The clutch hydraulics appear to be okay-no bubbles when bled and the clutch engagement point is consistent. With the clutch cover off, the pressure plate looks like it has plenty of travel when I pull the clutch lever in. Turning the idle speed down below 1000 rpm doesn't help. Grinds N-1 and...

    Clutch drag

What's up with my '08 FJR? Just bought it with around 8300 miles on it. No clutch drag/grinding into gear when I first got it. It sat for a week, then it started grinding into gear. Bled the clutch. That didn't help. The previous owner was using Castrol Act Evo X-tra 4T oil 20-50. I changed the...

I'm in the market for a 2006-2008 FJR. No AE models. Maybe something in the Pacific Northwest??
