    Just thought I'd look...

So my '13 FJR is now paid off finally, and still loving it. Ive always had a lustful eye on the BMW 1200 RT. So I decided to poke around the BMW forums. Uh no thanks. It is filled with complaints and problems. Good Lord. Lust is gone.

Ever have a ride like this?

So, this morning, preparing for work, I go out to my garage like I always do...start the feejer like I always do...zip the jacket...put the helmet and gloves on...back it out...like I always do. Then something happened. Same routine Ive done for years, but today...somehow I felt like one with...

RIP my friend. Another tragic loss.

A co-worker and good friend of mine passed on Thursday in a bike accident. He leaves behind two beautiful daughters. He was always positive, joking, and could lift your spirits. Please keep Mike's family in your prayers. And no, he did not follow the ATGATT rule. It is unclear whether or not it...

Calling all Gen3 owners! Lets talk about riding modes

So which riding mode do you use? I use Sport if solo and Touring if riding 2-up. Makes for a smoother ride for wifey :) So how do you ride? If you use both, what conditions change your riding mode?

Having a problem finding pants for wifey...she's too little

Wifey and I are looking at riding pants. Me...no problem. But she is a tiny girl. 5'0 100 lbs soaking wet...size 0-1 with 29" inseam. Ive looked at Olympia, Scorpion, and Alpinestar...all of which smallest size is 4 with 31" inseam. Anyone have ideas what brand might work for her? I guess...

    Number 240 Is....

IN MY GARAGE! Very, very preliminary impressions....love the new display layout...suspension seems firmer, more accurate...noticibly smoother overall (less vibration). So far (again, very very preliminary impression) the biggest difference between touring and sport mode is on take off and...

Opinion on Garmin Nuvi 50 GPS?

One thing I dont have for my bike is a GPS. Ive always used my phone, but it can be a little tedious. WalMart has the Garmin Nuvi 50 for $69 for black friday...so far all my reading tells me this is a great deal. How does it look to you guys?

Electrical issue and shop is stumped

So. Heres the short story of my electrical ghosts. A couple weeks ago I was getting ready to go to work. Started the bike then realized I forgot to put my backpack in the hard case, so shut it down. When I went to start it up again, it just made a clicking noise. Not a clicking like when the...

Gosh...why are some cagers complete asses?

So, Ive been riding a long time. Ive experienced tailgaters and such, but yesterday this guy was a complete ass. This particular exit off the freeway sweeps to the left and stops almost under the freeway, where a lights control the intersection. It feeds on to a 6 lane main road (3 lanes each...

    Question about SS1000

I was reading through (again) all the rules etc and I had planned on getting my neighbor to certify my start and end; however, on the IBA site, it states: So my question is, should I not then fill up the night before I leave so I can have my neighbor sign and then just take off? Do I need both?

    YA(hydration)T

So, Im looking for a solution for hydration while riding two up. Systems like the Garauld Refreshment System wont work as they take up space in the wrong spot. What Im thinking is, I have one of THESE Coleman 1 gal jugs, but Im trying to find tubing for it. Ive looked at REI.com and dicks...

    IBA car license plate frame?

The IBA store doesnt seem to show any, so Im assuming no. Wifey and I are doing the SS1000 in a couple of weeks and she wants an IBA frame to put on her car...I think she may be outta luck. Anyone heard of such a thing? Google didnt really turn up anything.

    Planning first SS1000 2 up

So, I posted in the ride planning section already, but seeing if anyone here has done the SS1k 2up. Wifey is insistent that she wants to go, sooo. On the FJR we've done an 800 mile trip over 2 days, but that involved ALOT of traffic, and it really wasnt too bad of a ride. The route we're...

Looking to do SS1000 from Phoenix in April/May

I'll admit, part of planning this frightens me a bit, but then the rational side takes over and I think...Ive got the perfect bike, with cruise control, should be good weather, whats not to love? Well, other than 1000 miles in 24 hours :P I will probably do this 2 up as wifey has expressed an...
