Top quality HID kits for the FJR

If you've followed along with this thread, you'll know I've gone through a series of cheap a$$ HID components and have now moved on to a very high quality setup that works really well with the FJR. The vendor I got these from is more focused on selling to the BMW crowd so I've decided to offer...

    2010 Bandit

I'm thinking this new Bandit would be a hoot to ride if we could get it here in the US:

Question for 905 racing guard crowd

I just picked up a used set of 905 bars from a forum member. Love 'em! However, he never received the plastic end caps for the top mounts. Can someone please describe them in more detail so I can look for a substitute? What size are they? How do they secure to the bar, etc.? TIA.

So that's what 0 psi at 80 mph feels like!

I'm closing in on 200k miles of lifetime riding (started very late  ) but last night was my first experience with losing a tire at speed. :o I was heading home from yet another late-night fix of some crisis or another at my mother in law's house when I started smelling burning...

Need Fast Advise On Leaking Tire

All, I'm leaving very soon for a trip to the hill country in Tejas (known for rough chip sealed roads). I just noticed my rear Avon Storm has a slow leak (about 5-8 psi a day). The tire is just starting to show a bit of wear at 2,500 miles and has lots of life left. In the short time I have...

My FJR gets a new roommate

I'd been toying with the idea of picking up a nice /6 or /7 to futz around on when out of the blue my brother calls from Kansas and says his neighbor has an old BMW and wants to get rid of it. It's a '91 with 75k miles. Hadn't been ridden in a year. I called a couple of folks to get an idea...

    Cal-Sci vs. Vstream Comparo

I've been riding with my Cal-Sci for a few thousand miles now. On my recent long haul back from Big Bend, I determined that while MUCHO better than stock, the Cal-Sci could be a bit cleaner with respect to helmet buffeting. I decided to give the Vstream a try to se which I like better. The...

    Short Big Bend Report

We had a great little ride down to the Bend this week. Windy but otherwise perfect weather. So many great roads. If you've never been to Big Bend National Park, I highly recommend it. I also learned why the FJR really doesn't need a 6th gear. Sustained 100+ running reveals an entirely...

    Yet another HID experiment

I'm finally getting around to trying the H4 Bi-Xenon kits that I've used to great success in the past on my '06 FJR. These are the type that use a single HID capsule to be both the low and high beam by physically re-positioning it within the headlight housing using a servo. Unlike the...

    Ordered my Staintunes today

I ordered Staintune cans for my '06A from exoticsportbike.com today. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: I'll post a report with photos here next week for those that might be interested. They were $90 cheaper than anyone else that had them in stock.

Would like to hear pipe options first hand

I picked up a dent in my right muffler in Ark last month which has inspired me to move quickly on my purchase of some slip-ons. I'm sensitive to the increase in noise and would love to hear any of the FJR muffler options first hand. Anyone in the DFW area with aftermarket pipes I could listen...

    Irving, TX, Stadium Yamaha

I had my first service experience with a Yamaha dealer today and it was a good one. When I determined that my '06 had the 17 mpg bug, I called Stadium on the advice of a friend and asked if they would do the repair. They knew about the TSB, verified my VIN was in the affected range, and then...

    Waaa! I miss my risers!

Well, I finally caved and sent my risers back to Doug per his wishes. I loved those things so much I was willing to take a chance but his latest letter convinced me he's really worried about them so I took them off the bike. The Heli's design leaves me cold so I'm hoping for a true riser...

    '06 Powerlet install

I think it was WC that indicated that a Powerlet socket could be put near the battery on the '06 but had to be placed so as to fit exactly between the new fuse panels. I did this mod today along with adding the hard wires for my heat troller and GPS. You do have to be very careful in placement...
