    2003 and 2006

Agree with your summary, the gen 1 to me was the best I have ever ridden, lighter, shorter wheel base, no linked breaks or ABS. With an Ohlins up grade I can honestly say I would trade my gen 2 tomorrow for a low mileage mint condition gen 1.  I miss my old girl, of 15 years, big time.

    End of an ERA

I was debating the same after parting with my FJR of 15 years...hoping for another 5years hopefully as a Gen 2 called me back to the big machine. Must admit one new knee, is calling for a lighter version, anymore issues I will be getting a tracer. Will watch your feedback re two up, etc

    Lumpy Idle

I agree with constant mesh. When evaluating the non authorised TBS and comparing the inlet butterfly positions at rest with the fuel rail removed. i conclude that there could be an imbalance set up at idle if tuned for higher rev sync. All the best.

    Parts for Fuel Injectors

I am thinking of doing the same, and have come across the same issue. Not cheap for the gasket and o ring at either end of injector and no sign of a basket listed. I may see if i can get an injector out as a sample and go door knocking. If you have an update on this situation it would be...

    FJRF008: Cam Chain Tensioner Survey

Not sure if this relates and would appreciate any imput. 2003, tapping at idle since 14k. Nothing done as relate it to ticking conversation re FJR's somewhere. No shim adjustments since 14k, however checked on service intervals. Now at 100k... Does this noise sound like ticking, similar to...

replace 03 rear shock with 05, hummm

Hi guyz, after changing the shock on my bike to a Ohlins and clocking up 64K, km (50'000+ Miles)with it, anything to upgrade the standard shock on an older model FJR has to be recomended. To Todd, if you managed to get on this site (kauri cafe), your shock at 60'000 could be due for a bit of...

 , I love speed, that comes with the territory....bikes , power to weight ratio, wind, G force etc....just try this... choose a spot on the the road some distance ahead, do 120 or what ever, try and stop as fast as you can before passing it....whats the bet it takes longer then you...

    Mono riding

Crazy , but FJR on wheel just seems natural, and since many of us appear to regard ourselves as pilots whats wrong with the odd simulated landing as the front wheel touchs down. :yahoo: Seriously best left for shows and the track, the reasoning being a mad man ( or woman) the otherday came...

    FJR cornering technique

 This is great stuff, things i have being doing for years. The 40/60 rule mentioned above (via twist the wrist) is so true. I would often find that loadin the front to much was an issue for me, an as a result touch down, kickin the back end was a prob on some earlier bikes. Breaking...
