    Yet another HID experiment

looks like my purchase from "hidking" on ebay has fallen through. they tell me (after i had already paid) that they will not accept payment via paypal from oversas !!! so they refunded my money, and i paid via bidpay. bidpay declined the transaction. so now i have to find another seller. can...

    Yet another HID experiment

they are obviously different, due to the thickness of the units, they cant plug the harness into it, hence the wires with sockets instead of sockets directly in the balasts themselves. im almost tempted to have a go at them myself. the seller claims that they will work with all hid kits that...

    Yet another HID experiment

that is the case here. he uses the same picture for ALL of his HID auctions.... i wil however confirm that they are the telescopic type that moves the light sorce, and not the butterfly type. so far my communications with him have been good, and quick. jason

    Yet another HID experiment

@FJRocket thanks for the clarification. im going to order a set of them today... the balasts look like the smallest i have seen so far. also, the seller claims that the capsules have been designed to NOT alter the beam. ill post my results after i get them in. im going to order the 6000K...

    Yet another HID experiment

and while im looking for a kit... whats the difference between H4-1 H4-2 H4-3 and H4-4 ? i thought that ALL H4 globes were the same (apart from wattage that is....) the kit that i postd in my earlier post was a H4-3 telescopic Bi-Xenon type. that will fit the FJR won't it ? Jason

    Yet another HID experiment

anyone here see these ? found these kits on ebay, and thought they look promising. telescopic bi-xenon, with smaller than normal (at least they look smaller than normal) ballasts. also the listing specifically states that the capsule is designed to NOT alter the beam cast of the stock H4...

Dead 06 FJR AE, Found blown 15 amp signal fuse?

there has only been one case of this fuse causing a problem with the AE. one of our forum members used the signaling circuit to power a pair of heated seats ! when the fuse eventually blew, the bike died too. but in his case, as soon as the seats were re wired to the battery, the problem...

    Ignition switch failures!

so far i have not heard of one failure of the "euro" style switch. these failures only seem to be effecting the std non "euro" type switches. all fjr's sold in europe, canada and australia have a coded chip inside the switch. jason

    Switched power for GPS?

@Renegade as i stated in my earlier post, the first attempt was connected to the (switched) heated grip controller. the fjr will remove power from this circuit in order to controll the temp of the grips. like a thermostat. so this was not an option. then i wired it straight to the battery...

    Switched power for GPS?

everything has been fine since i hooked the zumo up to propper switched power..... the datel reads 12.2 with the engine not running, and 14.2 while riding, 13.8 at idle, and 13.4 with the FF50's burning. so i think the battery and charging system are fine... as soon as i hooked the zumo up to...

    Switched power for GPS?

i originally had my zumo hooked up to switched power (via the heated grip controller wires) but quickly discovered that this power is switched on and off by the system in order to controll the temp of the grips !!! so i then hooked it up to a constant power (straight to the battery) this...

    YCCS Operation

the only possible reason they designed it to default to off, would be as a liability limiter. "IF" it was designed to default to on, and "IF" someone accidentally bumped the lever into gear, and the bike was to move unexpectidly, or fall over, they (yamaha) might find themselves liable for any...

    06 Tire Cupping

i recently had to replace the front Z6 on my o6. it was so badly cupped at 8500 km (5300 Mi) that it was causing very bad vibrations. i now have a Michelin Pilot Road 2 on the front. so far so good. jason
