Your custom saddle: Leather or Vinyl?

I got vinyl and wish I had got the leather. I seem to have a sweating issue with the vinyl. I've put an Alaska Leather sheepskin on the seat and it helps a bunch with air circulation. Still, if I had it to do again, I'd get leather.

    Greb is now a WFO

Welcome to Utah. There are a few of us FJR guys around but we seem to be a reclusive bunch. It would be great to have a meet and greet.

Daddy and Daughter Does the Desert

It appears that you have your priorities exactly right. Congratulations on a beautiful daughter and a wonderful relationship. You won't find many teenage daughters that want to hang out with dad, but then again, not many daughters have a "Warchild cool" dad.

Salt Lake City, UT - Jackson, WY

Those roads look familiar. Did the same trip last year. I'm just up the road from you in South Jordan. Maybe we can get together for a ride sometime.

Nothing like a bungie to wreck holliday

Brings back memories from July 4, 1993. I was bungee cording a tarp on a trailer full of junk, headed for the dump. I had one last cord to hook and it wouldn't quite reach then, "SPROING" right between the eyes. Laid nose wide open and blood was gushing everywhere. I spent that holiday flat...

How many significant others ride their own bike?

After three tries to find the perfect bike, I believe we have a winner. Victory Vegas Low seems to fit her just right.

    2009 FJR1300 info released!

Looks like my saving for a new motorcycle account is safe for another year. I sure would like to try that new V-Max though.

    Which custom seat???

I am similar dimensions to you. The Russell is by far the best seat I have ever had on a bike and I have tried a few. Here is a pic from my ride in appointment last June.

    FJR Maybe

The BMW 800ST with the factory lowered option might be one to consider. The seat height is just 29.9 inches. https://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/bikes/bike.jsp?b=f800st These are lower that the FZ6 or the FZ1. The gas tank is under the seat which makes them beautifully balanced. They don't have...

    LOFO

I must have missed the announcement. I've got the wife riding her own FZ6 now. I'm about due for a Logan/Bear Lake/Idaho Lotto ticket run.

    New windshield

I'm 6'1", 32" inseam, long torso (I'm built like a panda) I have the CalSci XL. The looks are subjective at best and the fit and finish are a little off, but functionally it work quite well. I can dial it in to near calm air when it is about 3/4 of the way up.

    Thinking about a KLR 650...

I'd drive 300 miles to see a monkey dressed like a cowboy riding a dog. I'm kinda fond of this one too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCP3wKTajsU

    Thinking about a KLR 650...

I've had two KLR 650s, several different Yamaha and Honda dual sports and a Suzuki DRZ 400. My current dual sport is a DR650. My favorite of the bunch is the DRZ 400. Much better in the dirt without giving up much on the street. On my short list of what's next is the KTM 690e or the BMW F800...

    Motorcyclehelmets.net

I have ordered a couple Vega helmets from them. It took about 2 weeks and I'm in the Salt Lake Valley. I know 4 other guys that had similar results. Good prices, but service is a little slow.

    Beyond the FJR...

Great looking bike. This would be my first choice if I was in the market for a cruiser. You'll have to let us know how the two bike compare after you've racked up a few miles.
