Need REAL geek/guru to trace email source

Just like the topic says. Maybe one rides an FJR. A shove in the right direction would be appreciated. Does anyone understand THIS: Delivered-To: [email protected] Received: by 10.140.134.10 with SMTP id h10cs89164rvd; Wed, 23 Sep 2009 14:46:06 -0700 (PDT) Return-Path...

    Question for AE owners

I'd have to support what DC said. I normally shift between 2,500- 2,800 with no throttle rollback and it feels like a CVT. Couldn't be smoother. For a more agressive start I use a little more throttle and up the shifts to 3,200 - 3,500. This will get me well clear of traffic and is still...

    180/55ZR-17 B = BMW K1200GT & R1200RT; Yamaha FJR1300

Michelin, Pirelli and Bridgestone produce and reccomend STRONGLY the use of tires with reinforced sidewalls on heavy, powerfull bikes like the ST's. These three companies all ended up at the same place after spending lots of dollars on extensive testing. They are not the least bit interested...

    shifting the AE

For around town and relaxed riding I commonly shift at 2,500 -- 2,800 with no rollback, even at stronger throttle settings. Using 3,100 - 3,400 gets me out in front of even aggressive drivers and still requires no rollback.

    1300AE Reliability?

My AE has been absolutly bullet proof. I have patted myself on the back many times for taking the chance and ordering it long before it hit these shores. I have never looked back . . . except to see other bikes getting smaller behind me.

Boot dragging on asphalt when cornering

We don't ride with our "toes" on the pegs, or at least we shouldn't as they are for balance and stubbing. The foot is generally divided into the forfoot, midfoot and hindfoot. The forfoot has phalanges (toes) occupying the front and they are connected to five metatarsal phalangeal joints at...

rules for replacement of 250 class in moto grand prix

Appears the class founders prefer more cylinders judging by the specs. The 3cyl has a 5.37% advantage in potential airflow over the 2. The 4 has a 8.1% edge. seems like serious encouragment to me.

Has anyine tried to reprogram the clutch on an AE?

How much adjustment is there in the engagement rpm and how easy is it to do? Getting it up over 3k would have a dramatic effect on times for those 1/4 milers. If it were changable in the way Suzuki changes their map it would be a great feature. Would make a killer bracket bike.

    Cornering confidence

Alexi wrote: Whoa there young fella. We don't need you to complete a successful tour only to come back and buy it on the front end of a Buick. We need you to have fun and add to the gene pool and strengthen the economy. As anyone with serious track time will tell you public roads are not the...

    FRJ A OR AE?

I think that 90%+ cornering on the AE is a mixed bag but for me, who's razor sharp senses and orientation of immortality is long gone, the trade-offs are in my favor. The YCCS seems to have a pretty sophisticated algorithm concerning RPM matching on downshifts. If your's dosen't you may want...

    2009A vs 2007AE

I have ridden many FJR's (A & AE) before and since purchasing my AE. I can honestly say that I am always glad to be ridding home on my AE. Incredible machine! I'm not even remotely interested in stoplight to stoplight, clutch burning launches so it suits me well. If your riding style likes...

News on the AMA Superbike Series

I'm in favor of anything that gets the racebike closer to the real product. It fosters USEFULL product developement, reduces costs and reduces average speeds, (read safer) but not to a level that is perceptible from the stands. I think fans are getting tired of formats that inevitably morph...

Sell the FJR, or will a PCIII fix the throttle?

Aasland, I come from a long list of Hondas so I understand your soft spot for their build quality. I landed on an '06 FJR because I couldn't get an updated 1100 Sabre from H. I came VERY clost to an ST1300 but ultimatley wanted something a little more aggressive and a tick lighter. My...

    Modded 07FJRA vs Modded 08C14.....

WW - guess someone has to do it. Glad it's you and not me! The data is quite interesting though. On the C-14 forum I see that the thread that started concerning these side by side tests of the C-14 and FJR has morphed into the usual "flies in or flies out" discussion in an effort to understand...

    Clutch question

The AE should have an even longer clutch life as the YCCS system, almost by definition, prevents abuse.

    Fuel Economy

Here is a link to a test I ran some time ago. FJR fuel economy at various speeds Also, in retesting after installing the PCIII the mileage figures actually were higher even though the low RPM mapping was a slight bit richer. Go figure. AND - before anyone tries to compare their figures...

    Comagination Headlight Modulator

Vio - While I can't give you specifics on the application you're having trouble with I can tell you that the AE is wired differently from the A model. The jumper locations are different on the bus since the electronic clutch has imput into the throttle and I believe the timing also. Even the...
