Is it harder to get up the on the centerstand? I don't have any trouble with the stock geometry but it is heavy and having to lever it up another inch seems to me like a bit of a challenge. How's life without a centerstand?

It's all relative. I think the FJR is a royal PITA for anything that requires work under the fairing. You need to work slow and pay attention the first time you try to get the fairing off or you'll end up with lots of leftover parts when you're 'done'. Don't ask me how I know this. :headbonk...
