    Sena SMH10(R) vs. Scala G9

Top Speed, Kinda figured. It's been a while since I've visited this page as my hobbies took a detour last year. Nevertheless, since I'm looking to upgrade my comm system sometime this year, I wanted to try and get a quick low-down on what this community is using, what problems they have...

    Engine miss

Just came back from a 500 mile ride after being off all winter. I decided to cover the carb sync tubes with electrical tape then placed the existing rubber caps over the tape. It seems I've had a vacuum leak as it's running MUCH smoother now. Guess it's time to replace the four rubber caps...

    Engine miss

Ooooh, great thought! That's something I haven't considered. I'll try and look into this over the weekend. Thanks

    Engine miss

I agree with your diagnoses, but it seems a bit worse from when i first bought it. The problem is that the PCIII has been on for most of my owning the bike, so I don't recall specifics. Now that i have my son's Jeep running after replacing the carb, I see a similarity. Namely that it was...

Hmm. Haven't considered that. I'll give it a shot when I get the time... Thanks

    Engine miss

Joe, Good point. I'm garaged for a while, but from what I remember, The miss does NOT occur during deceleration. It ONLY occurs while at a steady cruise. Ionbeam, I'm familiar with needing to +7 the CO settings to smooth out the 'miss' while at cruise, but it seems worse now that it has...

    Engine miss

I have done quite a bit of experimenting with CO settings. None of which really affect any change. I've also gone through numerous tanks of gas and still have the same problem. I'm beginning to think that it's electrical and perhaps even in the ECU??? I again fiddled with it. Scenario is as...

    Continued TPS Failures

So I seem to be chasing an old gremlin. A while back I was fighting a rough running engine and it seems to be back. Just sync'd the carbs and it's still rough...around 1,500-4,000RPM. Last time this happened it was either corroding plug wire and/or failing spark plugs. though it fixed the...

    Continued TPS Failures

Think my PC III just died while connected to USB. With PC III removed and connected to desk top PC with 9v battery, the LED throttle Position lights showed both High AND low lights, then shut off all together. Tried removing and re-installing battery with no change. Things that make you go...

Sounds like what I meant... ;-) Thanks. This will be accomplished when I have down time.

    Continued TPS Failures

So based on Wfooshe and Ionbeam, I'm wondering if I could perform a hard reset and install it again? Since installing and programming it several years ago, nothing has been done to it. I first tried Wallys smoothness map before settling on a more 'peak performance' oriented map. It ran fine...

    Continued TPS Failures

UPDATE: So I removed the PC-3 completely. After about 150 miles, I've had NO error codes or engine lights. Guess the TPS problem was coming from the PC-3. At this point, I'm unsure if there is any damage to the TPS, it seems to be running as it should...albeit not as smooth as when the PC-3...

    Continued TPS Failures

    1) Yes, the 2 new TPS clearly fixed the problem...for about 4 months. However, The second time it was replaced the error code (15) and amber light shown for about 10 seconds 1 week after getting it back; then no problems for the next 2500 miles. 2) 2,500 mile after replacing the TPS, I almost...

    Little PA jaunt

Yeah...What's with the street names here in PA? I mean, The Lancaster Amish have 'Blue Balls' and 'Bird In Hand' as cross roads too. Makes you wonder about the men leading the town. ;-) Cool write-up! Sport

Two big items I was waiting on. 1) Garmin Zumo 660 just arrived and I spent the afternoon wiring the bike and updating maps. I think I'm ready to ride. :-) 2) Tent poles were shot and needed replaced. Thanks to Dan, who gave me his old poles, I now have a working tent. Thanks Dan. Good...
