    Another great weekend weatherwise

There is a lot of good riding in Western Mass, eastern NewYork and Northwestern Ct. I have found , over the years, by trial and error some outstanding routes for half day and day trips that snake through the Bershires and taconic range and pristine farmland. I'd be glad to lead a ride down...

    Another great weekend weatherwise

sand and ice are not the biggest problem, since i don't ride when there is ice on the road..lol. It's being extra invisible because cagers aren't looking for bikes normally and even less in December... yea..there's a good chunk of down days..but there is also a good slug of mild days all...

anybody ever ride a 2007 Ducati Monster S4Rs Testastretta

Got to ride one today, and it was a great ride. It was as hort ride, too short. I am wondering, how do monsters work out, in general, for commuting and around town in between more sporting rides? Thanks

FJR 1300 Comparison To Sports Bikes

Lol...just goes to show..bulk is relative. My other bike is a valkyrie. When I get on the FJR after being on the Valk is feels very light and graceful and easy to back up and turn..lol

FJR 1300 Comparison To Sports Bikes

I have never ridden a pure sportbike like you guys speak of. It hard to imagine using even more power than the FJR has. I mean, I'm out today, scraping footpegs and hammering it coming out of turns, and I'm doing 90 mph before i arrive at the next curve. I feel like that is extremely fast for...

Enjoying the hell out of this thing!

Following harleys...Heresy! I passed at least 10 v-twins today, and at least two tried to keep up with me...lol One harley went WOT when I was safely trying to pass him ( I could hear the paint shaker screaming for air) and I still zipped by him like he was parked on the side of the road...

10000 mile impressions from new FJR owner

I'm 6'3 and I have stacked risers, lowered footpegs and a aftermarket seat. I think i have close to the perfect bike now..lol. Sold your valk? ouch. I'm keeping mine, pefect for 2 up cruising , and a future collectible.

    I don't get it

I guess it becomes very important to decide who is not a 'motorcyclist' if one has self -doubts..lol

    Modify stock muffler

You can't undo it..lol to each his own but i look at it this way.. LEO are trained to SEE and HEAR speeding motorcycles. Why would I want to be HEARD? Why would I want to even give the PERCEPTION of a CROTCH ROCKET by having a LOUD EXHAUST? I am just a fuddy-duddy riding along on my QUIET...

    FJ...ahhhhh!

I scrape a lot too, but it doesn't seem to do much harm...lol My FJR is totally dialed in for smoothness and ergonomic fit for me.

    Studded gloves, or no?

Only if you can polish the studs to a blinding shine so you can hold up both palms in an emergency to act as additional lighting  Seriously..I have never heard of them...got any pics?

Here's one that should make you all nod knowingly!

I am actually cooler on my 05 with leathers on my legs because it insulates me from the engine heat better.

Get out of 2nd gear much around town?

I'm speaking more about the 'burbs here, where I reside. I rarely ride into the 'city' proper. I don't think riding safely excludes reasonable fun by any means. I think safety is an attitude, not an RPM range. Before I installed Wally's Smoothness Map I didn't really have much smoothness...

Get out of 2nd gear much around town?

I asked the forum about weather running above 5,000 was bad for the engine and most responses indicated that is does no harm to the bike at all ( I'm not speaking here about going to redline all the time). Here is that thread https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?s...c=23150&hl=

Get out of 2nd gear much around town?

Hey Folks, I was reading the thread about 6th gear on here and I have a question for the brethren. Most of the time within the urban/suburban city limits I find myself going no faster than 45 mph tops, as it would not be prudent to go any faster for a number of reasons. I like to keep the...
