Screen extensions - any good on stock screen?

I have one and while it works great for me, it makes me nervous on those occasional brief speed runs. I’ve not heard of any issues, but I’ve kept it below triple digits since installation.

    Lowering Kit

I’m 5’6. 8 years ago I installed Soupy’s Adjustable Links combined with their adjustable side stand. Yes, one does have to watch for and avoid tall speed bumps, but I have NO regrets. Install was simple and easily reversible. As for cornering clearance, I have yet to scrape pegs, but then I...

    Hello from East Yorkshire

Welcome Chris, I’ve owned my “05” for eight years and the only problem now is that it has ruined me for anything but an FJR!

    New FJR Owner

Scooter, I agree. It would be good to hear from others regarding the ABS on the Gen 1, but for me (though I’ve appreciated the ABS on other bikes), I never cared for it on the Gen 1‘s where as newer FJR’s seem to function just fine.

NW US, SW BC adventure to begin

Your “first“ coast to coast trip? I’ve yet to do one, but maybe someday. I hope our little town treated you well. Crescent City it self is nothing special, but I’ve traveled to many beautiful places and between our redwoods, our coast line and the pristine Smith River, this county is hard to...

NW US, SW BC adventure to begin

Hey! How was your trip? Did you maybe start a new thread and I missed it? I hope it was an amazing adventure, as me and my 05 look forward to doing the same upon my retirement!

Hello to you all in this FJR parish.

My FJR appears to be a twin to yours, but our Serows are just cousins. Ya know, if I was forced to give up one of these two, I’m not sure which I would choose. Did you ever imagine that at this age we would be having this much fun?

Hello to you all in this FJR parish.

Hey John, WELCOME, from Northern California (Redwood Country). Appears you and I ride the same two 2-Wheelers. My Gen 1 is a blue 2005 and my Serow (Yamaha XT 225) is a 2004. These bikes are like my two best friends as we certainly enjoy lots of fun and adventure together. I do envy your rear...

    FJR Mileage Milestones

Hey Ghost, Can you elaborate further on how the motor seems to be doing with those miles? Power? Oil consumption? Has the motor been apart at some point? Any secrete to getting one of these motors up to those miles? Sorry if some of this was addressed earlier in the thread, but it’s a looong...

Hey! Newish member from Crescent City here. Might consider including any tent camping options. I know June can be iffy ☔️, but I’ve always enjoyed camping off the bike! Thanks for your work on this 👍.
