It's hot. I'm talking miserable hot. The entire world is a sauna. The air is heavy - my huge nose cuts through it as I walk from place to place. The sun beats down on me like there's a magnifying lens over my head and I fear that at any given moment I might spontaneously combust into oblivion. Occasionally we get a summer shower which brings relief for approximately 7 minutes, then the steam rises and I feel like I'm treading within the pool at Ole Faithful. In the morning, you couldn't buy a wind with any amount of money. In the afternoon, a light sea breeze blows like an acetylene torch and I liken the experience to sitting inside of a Maytag clothes dryer running on "high" setting. Frankly, it sucks here now.

But I don't give a shit. I'm going riding tomorrow anyway.

Ya, I know what you mean, it has been over 70º here for more than two weeks. I'll probably go riding anyway, maybe over to the coast where there is a sea breeze ;)

Having lived in LA, AL & GA I know what you mean about the heat and humidity. Then I moved to Arecibo Puerto Rico where hot and humid gained an extra decimal point.

No pictures, limited dialog?

This may well be your shortest RR ever posted. Somewhat disappointing and not up to your usual standards.

hppants has a bigger problem than he thinks. Much like addiction, no self control, an I don't care attitude. It's the very bad

drug called FJR .) Be careful and don't let those BIG bugs knock you off the bike!

50 this am-meebee 80 later, clear and dry..not gloating at all tho--hotpants will have his day next winter when it's 10 degrees here....

Donal - they just tease us with that shit. "There's a cool front coming!" - they bark it at us like some kind of deranged Paul Revere. Of course, the f-ing front always stalls at around Little Rock and we bake while we watch it blow well North of us. We sit in front of the Television, watching the weather idiot sell us this garbage like speechless kids who got passed over by the Ice Cream man.

Sorry I'm a little snippy. This heat chaps my ass - LITERALLY!

Maybe I'll bring the camera tomorrow....

Top_speed - I guess there's always... that. I can't run with the dawgs but I can bark from the porch. After some time, even that gets old.

bhendron - I guess I don't feel so bad now. Good grief, man - that's incredible temperatures! Thanks for the pick me up!

I have worked in southern Algeria where the summer mid-day temps were over 50 deg C / 122 F (in the shade). I also worked in Quatar and Sharjah where the temps rarely went above 40 deg C / 104 F.

Give me the dry heat of Algeria any time. Humidity is a killer..............

Well I managed about 400 miles today. I left the house at 5:30 am. It was actually tolerable until about 10:30 am. The last 100 miles was miserable. Trying to expidite getting home, I resolved to just hit the slab. Bad idea - a major accident brought us to a crawl for about 10 miles. The bike was getting pretty hot and so was I. I decided to lane split (not legal in Louisiana) the last 3 miles and be done with it. Once traffic started moving, I was 30 miles from home. My bike never got below 3 bars all the way home. Thank good ness the fan was working.

In other news, the front brake light switch on the M/C took a dump. No biggie.

Anyhoo - I'm glad I went for a ride. But I'm more than ready for summer to be over.
