I considered pulling the wheels myself and taking them to the dealer to have the new Pirellis installed. A lazy streak came over me and I decided to instead take the bike to the dealer. When I picked it up today, the tech informed me that the recalled TPS hadn't been replaced and he installed a new one. Maybe it's my imagination, but it does seem to have a little less surging. The PC is going on regardless.
