I have a daughter that started school at Texas Christian University. Family Weekend is Sept. 17-19. I need a cheap hotel within 10 miles or so. Anyone with knowledge. I will be flying not riding.

How much do you want to spend? I travel to our Lockheed Martin plant at FW often and know many good hotels in the area. Many very close to the school too.

I don't want a dive and hotel costs vary. $70 ish

Take a look at the Homestead Studio Hotel north of the campus on I35. Easy on & off. Here's a website of reviews. It isn't the best in the area but it's better than tolerable. If you want to go north of $70, there is a good Courtyard by Marriott on the Trinity river for about $105 per night.
