Valve check-ever been tempted to re-shim the entire valvetrain?

The picture you have is great (that's precisely what I'd hoped to be able to accomplish). I tied both cams to the timing chain and removed the cct. I didn't feel like I couldn't get sufficient slack to pop the shim and riser on the #4 cylinder. So I put everything back together. Bike runs well except for that off-idle hesitation is back.
